A kid outlined in red? With a Voltaire song? After Daria promised more backstory in S2? And after the S1 finale ended with a kid at a funeral and the opening chords of Beetlejuice? Looks like we're gonna be learning some more about Duke pretty soon.

Duke looks so cute as a kid, depressed and zero passion for life but definitely cute. Love the speedpaint lore and spoilers ;-).

I was confused why is he standing alone in the crowd so sadly in that young age, and when you started coloring everyone's clothes black... It frickin hit me, and I almost cried.

"Here lies the counts hopes and dreams" A greedy crab once said that, but I think it sums it up quite nicely.

Are we going to be seeing a glimpse in Dukes past of what lead him to what he is now, or something else along those lines, either way, it be cool Also really cool Speed painting Daria, great as always :)

I knew our boy Duke's past would be heavy, looking at what's hinted at here it may be a very sad tale. And I'm ok with It, I mean we've seen what Duke has become so it only makes sense that his path that led him there wasn't a very happy one.

I am gona guess the key is a gift from his mother or father. Besides that I am suprised what Daria has done with Duke. When I first saw him I tought he was be much more of a villanous role but this really goes far in actualy making me feel sad for him. Trought the whole series dude just suffers

It seems like, at the same time it seems like he's being ignored by their family or something, seems like he's in a funeral... And I love how I just feel like his theme song is anything that has a violin in it? Like, ANY song I hear a violin, being it a sad or happy tune, I STILL THINK "yeah feels like a perfect theme for Duke-"

Daria this is incredible! This is probably a preview of Duke's past by this lovely speedpaint. Voltaire music fits perfect for Duke.

I know that Daria said Season 2 would focus a bit on Duke's story, but I didn't think we'd go this far back. "Invisible" from Beetlejuice is running through my head as I look at this. Hmm... it seems Duke is younger than I thought, in terms of immortal life at least.

I'm incredibly curious to know how Duke became... Duke. Was he invited to become a Vampire, or was he bitten by a hot Vamp who just tossed him aside? Either way, I can't wait to see how it pans out!

Calling it now, the man to Duke’s left is gonna be his father, and the woman to his right is gonna be his mother. Also, I think the other adult who was actually colored in instead of shadowed in the background like everyone else was an important figure in Duke’s life. Like, maybe an uncle or something?

Everyone: OMG! DUKE LORE!!! Me: little baby man, little BABY, little baby Baby BABY MAN! Also if this is how tall Duke was as a child than his teenage years must have been absolutely bat shit for him to have grown to the size that he is as an adult.

My Theory on Duke's Origins: Born 25th January 1897, a boy is born to Duke Waldemar Rammstein by his one-time mistress. (I am Rammstein!) His mother however dies before he turns three and he is forced to live under his abusive father. (Born Bad) The Duke was already married to the Duchess Camilla, and with her had three daughters; Belle, Marie, and Antoinette, so he lived under their abuse. (Almost Human) Then, one night many years later, a vampire visits him in his room and offers to make him a vampire. (The Chosen) After undergoing his transformation, he takes his revenge on them all (The Headless Waltz) Having killed his entire family, he takes up the name Duke instead of as a personal title since as an immortal he never foresaw it passing to anyone else. (Raised by Bats) Of course this is widely speculative, and even the names are just off the top of my head, but I have a feeling at least a couple of these (except Born Bad since it is literally this song here) are going to make it into the next season.

The girl on the right is wearing Mina's coat, and since "invisible" from Beetlejuice was playing at the end of the last clip, a song about losing a mother, we can assume that this is the funeral of Duke's mother (Daria) and Mina is attending it. Not sure about the man on the left, though.

Seeing this speed paint, I would assume this was part of the post credit scene from Stuck With You. Since the end showed a kid holding an umbrella in the rain. I guess this little boy may be human Duke during his childhood, before he grew up and became a vampire

Not sure if anyone else has spotted this but has anyone else noticed that all the people around Duke (and Duke himself) are all dressed in black? And its raining. It just kind of seems like maybe there's a funeral going on. I can't help but wonder if someone close to Duke died maybe? Like family or something? Just my thoughts.
