The Bosch Glide Miter Saw is AMAZING! I might even saw it's the BEST space saving miter saw. I went with the 12" version and it has a great space saving design for my mobile trailer shop that I'm building. (Ron Paulk anyone??) I love everything about this thing. This is the GSM12SD model. In this video I do an unboxing, assemply, change the blade to a Freud Diablo finish blade, rundown all the features and how it works as well as my first impressions and initial review (5 star and two thumbs up!) Check out the links and more info below!

Borsellino Carpentry is a construction company located in Upstate New York. I specialize in small residential remodeling jobs. This channel is dedicated to teaching other contractors, carpenters, small business owners, DIYers, weekend warriors and anyone else who just wants to learn a little bit about home improvement. The full name of the company is actually Borsellino Carpentry & Home Repair, LLC but that is just too much of a mouthful! I also do tool reviews, business tips and other contractor related videos on this channel. In the wintertime I even do snow plowing videos. I try to mix it up and show all the parts of the contracting job, not just the glorious finished product. Tips. Very important if you would like to saw with precision. (avoid torsion as much as possible)! Always choose a Miter saw with a handle positioned in a vertical line above the saw blade. Everything must be aligned, slide rails, handle, and saw blade,it is much better this way the blade will not tilt. Because there is some torsion in the aluminum housing . And choose an engine with softstart on it to prevent wear of the gear and worm shaft. It is very important that everything is aligned. Here are some examples to show how the handle must be positioned above the blade. Bosch gcm 800 sj / Bosch gcm 8 sjl / Evolution rage 3 / FESTOOL KS 60 / HITACHI C12RSH2 / FESTOOL KS 60 E KAPEX / Metabo KGSV 72 Xact (This also is the case with the Miter saw without the slide rails). If you want you can test it yourself at home if there is torsion in the aluminum housing. Step-1. First you make a saw cut from +-5 mm deep in to a flat piece of wood about +- 20 mm thick. To this with the normal handle positioned on the right side of the Miter saw. Step-2. Then repeat this by pushing the saw blade down with your hand (finger) on the aluminum protective cover were the saw blade is cased in. Just now only do this without the running engine. Step-3. Now you can see if the saw blade will be positioned in or next to the saw cut. If the saw blade is (+- 0,2 / 0,5 mm) next to the saw cut then there is torsion in the aluminum housing. Step-4. therefor it is much better to choose a Miter saw with the handle positioned vertical in line above the saw blade. Step-5. When you measure the vertical 90 degrees angle square (Digital Level Box) of you're sawblade don't forget that there is always some torsion in the aluminum housing. Conclusion: Remember this, the test is only about torsion and nothing else how further away the handle is from the saw blade how more chance of torsion in the aluminum housing, you better not go for that. (the choices are yours).

Thanks for the true man way to do an unboxing. “Manual. I don’t need no stinking manual “ lol. Apparently lots have broken the Allen key. Even after reading the MANual and knowing which way to loosen the nut. Damm China steel. 😂

I bought one a few weeks ago. Was hoping to save some space in my tiny shop, things about twice as big as my old 10” GMC saw. Lol… Have seriously thought about returning it for the 10” but just going to keep it. Love it, but don’t like the giant Sasquatch hand handle grip, the safety is annoying too. Nice video, enjoyed it!👍

Yeah it's hard to get used to. I always forget that the bevel lever is in the front instead of the back like my old DeWalt. Not sure I'll ever get used to it cause I don't use it very much lol

I'm not sure if it is any good actually. Maybe I'll do a comparison video of them! I've just always used those Freud Diablo blades because most blades that come with saws are just generic cheap blades. Depends on the company though.... hmmmmmm.... now I want to do that video!!! hahaha

This is the second Bosch 12” that I've had. The blade change tool is absolutely garbage. You didn't need to take that first screw off when changing the blade. The clear blade guard will lock up out of the way when the blade needs to be changed.

Yeah the tool really is garbage!!! I can't believe it broke the first time I tried using it!!! Thanks for the tip on the guard, My old dewalt I always needed to remove that guard so I guess old habits are hard to break :)

I lose more and more confidence in this saw the more videos I see. Lots of mechanical struggles and adjustments required. People are drawn to its double hinge sliding action but that is the least important thing to look for.

@@BorsellinoHomeServices I'm on my second saw like this and they both have been super accurate. Even still, I always check. I used to work for UPS and I'm telling you that lots of things go bump like this saw for instance. My point is, at least it has the ability to be corrected if it needed to be. That's a plus in my book.
