I just cant get over the fact that they made the QC35s sound worse with a firmware update deliberately so that people upgrade to these more expensive and inferior headphones

I don't have an issue with these for what they are, but the conspiracy surrounding the bad firmware on the QC35 IIs - nuking the noise cancellation to encourage the upgrade to the 700s. I'd like to think that the publicity risk isn't worth it, but the crappy firmware came at a suspicious time. Makes me wary of ever buying another pair. Luckily I haven't upgraded the firmware on mine.

You should compare them with the Sony's WH-1000XM3, they're the best noise-cancelling headphones I've ever tried!

Audio-Technica MSR7NC Noise Cancelling headphones sound great there's no change in sound with the ANC unlike in other headphones where you notice a hiss or difference, it sounds just like a normal MSR7! Although the ANC isn't as strong as Bose QC-35 or the Sony XM3 it's still pretty good, also the sound leak is so minimal and the detailed sound quality is superior (not for bassheads though).

Mb someone finds this comment in a similar situation, I had 700s for 3 days and had to return them because the pain in very top of the head was unbearable. If I wear them for an hour in the morning, my headache would last me till the evening. This didn’t happen with other, heavier and lighter headphones (momentums 3, razer kraken ,sony xm3, px 7s etc etc)

Most of these problems seem to be with the software (apart from the small touch sensitive area). They should just get their heads together, make desktop app, make it so you don't have to sign in. (to either the desktop or mobile app) and after you connect them give you back the options you previously didn't have to use the app for.

You should try the AKG N90Q before saying that the bose 700 is the best noise Cancelling can,but for the price différence it would be better. :)

I will be honest, I bought these for $250 CAD at an employee sale, and I was not happy at first with the sound quality; I considered returning them. Then I remembered the main reason why I bought them: for work and commute. When I am on a business call while working from home, I don't have to worry about the garbage truck loudness or a dog barking in the apartment next door because their mic noise canceling is incredible. I wouldn't recommend those for pleasure, but they do a great job for professionals that are often on calls and want to have decent sound quality. I really hope Sony will do great with the MX4 microphone quality because I would've gone with the XM3 if it wasn't for that.

That's probably a bluetooth limitation. You can't have multiple device transmitting at the same time. Plus, there is a single DAC, it can't work on two simultaneous streams.

I can't do noise cancelling, my ears are too sensitive, ANC feels like someone hit you in the head then quickly spun you around a couple of times then hold you upside down and dunked your whole head under water Disoriented Dizzy Can somehow hear some low freq pressure Headache Earache.

Give the wh1000xm3 a try. They're better

I have the Sony 1000 xm3 and no regrets.

I use these for work, they're alright for video calls but for music the sound quality is just alright. It's not bad but it's not exciting either. That's with the headphones turned on, btw. They sound horrible when powered off. I think Z forgot to mention it, maybe because it's to be expected? I dunno. They are very comfortable, though. If you need noise canceling, these are good. If not, I'd get something else.

I don't think the multipoint pairing problem is isolated to the bose. I believe those optical to bluetooth transmitters do something that prevents the handoff to the other device. Same thing happens on my Trekz Titanium.

in ANC comparison videos between the 700 vs XM3 the Sony still came out on top. Not knocking the Bose but Sony did a better drop filtering out sound especially voice chatter. But Sony needs to up their mic cause the Bose has the better mic.

FWIW... you don't need the app. I connected to both my work iphone and my pixel without installing the app. Also connects to my macbook, and I can switch sources without an issue. No app required. Privacy is a deal breaker for many people, and I get that. But since this is not really the case, I think you should let people know that this is not really an issue. It will greatly increase the quality of the review

My Nuraphones have that conversation mode with the firmware update that launched after your review, works great, noice cancelation is good but probably not as good as the bose, but on a plane, I can't hear squat but my music, and still has the best sound quality I've heard, not that I've heard much in the high end world.

At this Price, I would just keep saving and jump directly to the Flare Pro2HD. They supposedly sound like a Tia Forte with better bass and clarity, but slightly worse layering. Or like a better Sony EX1000 in everything except separation, because, well, Sony EX1000. That and some Symbio W tips. Heck, the stock tips are top-notch and they have a Bluetooth module included. But hey, some people still want Bose. I have tried the QC35s and even though the ANC was nice, it did not muffle everything around me- Heck, they only muffled around 30dB. As for the sound, they were very muddy and sounded like headphones. My modded KSC-75s in a Porta-Pro body sound far better, there are layers within layers and you can really tell more or less where the instruments are. Sure, they leak music. However, I took the old Potapro drivers and placed them in the enclosure of my old headphones (some Avantrees). The Isolation stayed the same, in other words, there was not as much leaking. But the sound improved dramatically. There was a bigger soundstage with more detail, and of course, that surround sound feeling you get with high-end headphones. Still, the Portas are more comfortable and have a better sound. In any case, I would take the Provantrees any day over the Bose in SQ, even if the BOSE has better isolation and comfort. That Bad. TL;DR: Unless these are at least as good as KSC-75s in a closed-back enclosure when it comes to SQ, I would not even bat an eye for them, IMHO.

My Beats Studio 3 look more durable and that is saying something. Don’t judge me, I love AirPlay and they removed the optical Jack on the Apple TV 4K :-9
