don't forget to go into the BTS settings or Katana Librarian settings and go to the amp settings and turn off the "Live" setting and select "Rec" setting..its a HUGE difference especially when you are plugged into a mixer or recording equipment ..I use a Tascam portastudio DP-03 and its awesome but it sounded like shit before I found out about the cabinet settings and changed the Live to Rec (record)..do this and you will see what I'm talking about..I just want my fellow guitarists to get the best out of their Boss Katana amp..no thanks needed on this one

Btw the main thing I needed to get everything running was installing the Adobe air at first! and that's something BOSS doesn't tell you! So now everything works and I can use the ToneStudio finally. just get a OTG cable and a USB cord and plug your phone into your amp..use the Katana Librarian app from the playstore..it does all that Boss tone studio does and MORE and you don't have to lug a laptop around or plug into a computer...your welcome

14:03 your right it's not really a modeling amp when you compare it to other modeling amps like the Fender Mustang series amps or the Peavey VYPYR series amps..Line6..etc ..Boss really changed the game when they made the Katana model amps especially the MKII series..I own a Boss Katana MKII 2x12 amp and it's the best amp I have ever owned..it sounds like a tube amp without the warm up time and you get a shit load of tones and effects for free..I prefer it over a Marshall stack anyday.

The Boss Katana TS videos are very good. There is one problem thus far, in regards to the foot switching. For my Boss FS-6 I have the 50 Watt with two channels CH1 and CH2. There are some videos mention that you can have up to four channels but from these videos I do not think that works. I am under the conclusion that you cannot have four different amp channels - you can only have two switchable channels as it relates to the amp having only two channels. For example - if I wanted CH1 to be clean and CH2 to be clean with boost. Then I do not think you can switch to a third or fourth channel with the FS-6 footswitch. I wrestled with this and cannot find an answer I sent a message to BOSS Support to ask them this question. There is a BOSS video that claims you can use channels 3 and 4 but he does not show it swiching channels in BOSS Tone Studio and quite honestly I think it does not have that switchable ability, Hope that my question was clear. Here is what I am trying to accomplish with the FS-6 Tone Studio Layout CH1A to be clean CH2A to be clean with boost CH1 B Brown Sound for rythym CH2 B Browb Sound with Boost You can set it up like this in BST but the FS-6 will not switch between the others, I have tried differenct combinatations with theh A and B (Latachable) on the FS-6. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

The Adobe air thing is essential! I've been messing about for an hour. I couldn't find s place to download Adobe air but eventually found s link to Softonic. I downloaded Adobe air from there and then my tone studio app started to work when I opened it

Im new to the katana. I got it at a pawn shop. And im not really very seasoned on the computer end. This is a great detailed vid. All of the different things done in this video look sensible & easy. I'm the dummie who just wanted to see how you save everything to the channel and panel You want properly... The one thing not mentioned. I'm sure it's so simple it wasn't mentioned... but.. i don't want to spend two hours building the perfect tone that I want on channel 2B... & it goes away when i clic on a different channel. Does that make sense? Anybody clear that up for me real quick? And feel free to make fun of me

So you get all your presets or patches or whatever in Tone Studio. And you can use Tone Studio to select them. But then what? You add say, your fav 4 to some quick select button on the actual amp and you can select those from the actual amp? And the dials and knobs physically turn all by themselves on the amp? Or they don't turn and it doesn't matter where they are physically on the actual amp? Do you unplug the usb cable? Do you leave it in? I don't quite get how it works between the software preset selection and the physical buttons and knobs on the amp.

This is a great video but still no luck with my mk2 100w I really love the amp but this tone studio is a nightmare and it shouldn’t be just got a brand new computer running windows 10 and have done everything I could find and I have the right firmware and drive installed still getting connection failure pop up and I also did the mic settings thing I’ve read about I’m at a loss Again great video 👌 and I hope other people have a better time then I have I’m about to just go for an audio interface and try my best to get some plug ins to work 🙏🤘

Can anyone help me out? I'm having problems with Tone Studio. 1st. Tone Studio gives 2 Katana devices to pick from at startup, I only have the 1 Katana amp and want only one option. 2nd. No matter which Katana device I select the options go back to Katana as the Output on its own. I need to be able to listen to it through headphones, I do not want to listen to it through the amp only through my computer. Any suggestions are appreciated thank you!

When you say use parametric eq outside of fx to keep fx free is that the global eq that sits independently you are talking about? That's the only eq I have that doesn't take up a slot on my katana air

Juca subscriber here to your channel love your videos but I need some serious help. I have called roland cant get tech support on phone due to corona virus.i could really use your help. Here is my issue. I have a katana 50 watt and the boss tone studio( pc version ). I am trying to adjust the device input and out out setting for the boss tone studio to get my sound coming out of my pc speakers or pc headphones instead of katana speaker. I have tried all kinds of settings with no luck . I have set input to katana one not second and out out to my pc sound card and it defaults back to katana input and katana output. Any help would greatly be appreciated I am majorly stumped. I am doing this under the katana setting not the katana daw or katana ctrl. Not even sure what those are for. Do I need to be setting those instead.

I purchased Katana 100. Was happy first 2 weeks. Now after couple of years struggling to get any decent sound out of it and only using it at home here and there I am absolutely pissed off with it.
