Just treated myself to a new VE 8. Using your tips to set up has helped greatly. Coming from a TC Helicon Play Acoustic and being displeased with stage use of that tool I switched to the Boss VE8. I love it so far and look forward to tweaking and getting stage ready. Thanks Deb!

I also had the tc helicon play. It was very hard to,use and always getting repaired. When they finally replace it with a new one I didn’t even open the box and sold it. Love the VE8.

You can change it. Check the section on memory in the manual.

I have mine stuck on some sort of memory mode the two channels harmony and effect are on blue and can't get it out of there back to live mode would you know how I can do this please ?

If a system reset doesn’t work you may want to call Boss. I’ve had mine for 8 years and it’s starting to “miss fire”. Here’s how to return the VE-8 to its factory-set state. 1. While holding down the (GUITAR) REVERB [TYPE] and CHORUS [TYPE] button, turn on the power. “Fr” appears in the display, and the [MEMORY ] button blinks. * If you decide to cancel the factory reset, turn off the power. 2. Press the [MEMORY] button. The display flashes and the factory reset is executed. * Never turn off the power while Factory Reset is in progress. 3. Once “oK” appears in the display, you can turn off the power.

I have got boss ve8 . Saw your tutorial which is great. I have question I can see your 2 blue lights left and middle are on when you setting memory. But mine are red . why ?

Off hand I don’t know. Maybe volume is set too high for the effect??

Very informative video because i just got this pedal and it sounds amazing but it is a little confusing. Main reason i got it was because i thought it saved 50 loops and you could come back to them, im setting up songs for gigs and its definitely disappointing that it doesnt save them. Would you have any ideas on what i can do to get some acoustic riffs recorded then save them? i just wanna be able to lead over the acoustic and have the songs saved, it says something in the instructions about using a DAW software? Any help is greatly appreciated

I’ve created backtracks, saved them to iTunes (or whatever Android comp is), make a playlist for your set and use it with Android plugged into P.A. System.

I was recently learning about stems and how the ai separates the tracks but i have a little tascam recorder and might try to put down some background to the songs. I’m so lost….i can never get the Auto button under Harmony to be solid green…all I can get is a blinking red…. I want to set the harmony to Fl but god help me find out how…

You have the gain set too high. It should never be red. Turn gain down.

I tried that …. Nothing happened … I have also a Boss Ve-2 , I’m going back to using that…. You have an amazing skill on this pedal …. I can’t grasp all the extras and I don’t ever use a Looper…my auto button still just blinks red when you push it…

I bought another Boss pedal of the same Model…. It works correctly…. !!!…Lights are correct and all….I guess something was wrong inside the first one I had …I had bought it used …it works but is not fully working …I tried system reboot but no help…. I’m happy with the new one …thanks for help…
