Today i'm going to show you how to setup your Boss VE-8 with the Boss FS-5U external footswitch. I go through each of the parameters available to you using an external footswitch with your ve-8. How to set them up, how to use them.

Hi again, Deb! Thanks for your great videos, particularly on the VE8! I have used the Boss FS-6 to control the Looper function, mainly for the benefit of stopping the loop with a single press. All these other options to use the FS-6 are interesting. Just to clarify, though... you can only use the FS6 for one of these functions at a time, right? I mean, I think I can only use it for the looper OR the memory OR the guitar effects OR the harmony effects etc. right? Lol - maybe its too complicated for me!

Thank you so much. Very useful. One question though: Let's say we have made loops both with guitar and the mic. Can you switch between them via ext. footswitch while performing? Or switching sources option is only available while recording?

Not that I’m aware of. Very limited looper and use of external for switch.

I\I’ve used the boss pedal with it. Just make sure your “POLARITY” is set correctly.

I love my VE-8. Great for performing and just to have fun with. Mind you it isn’t great for recording especially USB. That said I would definitely recommend getting this.

@@DebErney Thanks 🙏 What about GarageBand? I'm not into producing but I'd be nice to record myself from time to time. Have you use any software to make simple recordins?

What setting does it use to cut effects to alow talking please.Also does the indicator light come on or off when using secondary pedal A/B mine does'nt change so i'm not sure if both actually work,yes a brand new pedal..TY informative .

Page 5 of your manual shows two ways to have clean signal to PA. The only lights that should be working are when you switch loop outputs. If they are working I would make sure the polarity settings on pedal are right.

Nice tutorial! 1 question please: If I want to switch between guitar effects, for example I'm playing in the Chorus effect, then I want to switch to the Octave effect, can the FS-6 do that?

The foot pedal is limited. Here is the manual section of the VE8 user manual. External Footswitch Setting C1 (C1) C2 (C2) Specifies the functions of the external footswitch (C1, C2) connected to the MEMORY=? jack. &“Connecting a Footswitch” (p. 6) 1 MEMORY = (C1: default) 2 MEMORY ? (C2: default) 3 LOOP STOP (HOLD: CLEAR) 4 LOOPER SOURCE 5 GUITAR ACOUSTIC RESONANCE SW 6 GUITAR CHORUS (EFFECT) SW 7 GUITAR REVERB SW 8 VOCAL ENHANCE SW 9 VOCAL HARMONY (EFFECT) SW 10 VOCAL REVERB SW 11 KEY UP 12 KEY DOWN 13 MEMORY/MANUAL 14 TAP TEMPO 15 TUNER ON/OFF

very useful thank you !!! Do you know if it is possible to have more than 2 switches? of course with this pedal you only get 2 but maybe there is a way to be able to change for example 3 funtions with a pedal or two. What I mean , for me is very important to be able to stop the looper with one pedal press and i need 2 more to be able to change the effects for example up and down. Can you make this from the unit itself?

Is there a way to START the looper with a foot pedal. I can get the pedal to STOP the looper, but that doesn't help getting the recording started. Thanks!
