This race will change you. You will never be the same again and you will continually chase the way you felt before and after for as long as you are able to do this. Guarantee it.

This is a fantastic preview of the Boston Marathon and it gives me a great idea of where the runners are and possibly feeling when I will see them while the race is happening.

This will be my first Boston Marathon in 10 days and will be my sixth major star. So dope! Hope they won't make Sydney, Australia as 7th star so I can retire from racing marathons. LOL

Hold back the first four miles. The “hills” are nothing at all to worry about. The real race starts with 10k to go....

I ran Boston Marathon in 1980 (the year "Rosie Ruiz" cheated for (temporary) win). I qualified other years; but not in 1980. Still, it was the only time I was ever around; so I ran it. I went a 1/4 mile ahead of the Start Line & took a foto of Bill Rodgers (& other leaders); jogged back to Start Line & started dead last. I passed over 2,000 runners (I counted 'em). Wonderful experience. My official marathon PR (Personal Record): 2:39:04 (6:03.9 pace), heart of San Diego Marathon, 1981; finishing in 16th place (out of several thousands). Felt I was gonna break 6:00 pace (which I held to the 20 mile mark) but it was super-hot the last 10k of rolling, slightly up-hill miles to the Stadium. I went to a 4-year high-school (Catholic, Carmelite-order seminary) 30 miles N-East of Boston between 1963-1967.

So this is what the course looks like? After running it last year for first time in crazy weather I could hardly see anything through the wind and rain 🙀🙀🙀💦💦💦

I thought you were now doing Manchester Marathon the week before? Are you still coming to Boston the next week? You might since you did Boston and London last year... I ran 21.5 miles on the course last week. It was amazing all the charities were there doing there last long run before taper...had to be 3,000 people out there running the course! Amazing and this was the practice run!
@PoetWithPace5 жыл бұрын
@@tomdillon5054 i am still aiming for Boston also. Sounds like you had a great time! Enjoy the taper!

Why is Michael Connolly narrating this video? He ran Boston as a "bandit" and had the nerve to steal a finisher's medal, even though he had NOT paid an entry fee to help pay to produce that medal.

interesting take on this race.........you think its over rated and under challenging? never heard that before!!! it just sucks that the qualifying time must be 5 minutes faster that listed!!! MANY MANY people revere and worship this prestigious race!!!1
