And RIP John Thomas "Sib'' Hashian. The reason why it sounds so clean was the fact that Tom Scholz was not only the one to record all the tracks in his garage in Boston, he engineered the recording of the record. But more importantly, he was a perfectionist guitarist, song writer, and more importantly, he has a master's in electrical engineering from MIT. So, naturally, he wanted the album to be perfect technically and musically. As it turns out, this is the greatest debut album in the history of music.🎸

This and the rest of the songs on the album written by Tom in his basement apartment recording studio, which he built by himself. A song literally predicting how the world was going to be blown away once they heard what he had made. What an artist. What a genius. What a scientist. What a prophet…a song with built in sounds of crowds going crazy, before anyone had even heard the first notes of these songs. Scary-crazy-great. Hired Brad to sing his lyrics. Tom knew he needed a great voice; so he found one. Tom played all the parts: acoustic, rhythm, lead guitars, bass, organ, song writer, sound engineer, etc., etc. truly astounding how this album came to us. Tom and Brad hired excellent musicians later; so they could play the songs live. What? Just, wow.

This came out when I grew up. Never got the chance to play it. Just learned the bass line. The groove is super solid and the triplets make it fun

When Tom wrote and played this song and Brad sang it there was not even a band called Boston!!! Just a couple of guys in a basement studio that Tom designed. Truly amazing!!

I saw Boston in concert at Braden auditorium at Illinois State University fall of 76 when this album came out! I was 20! Tom Scholz the lead guitarist said he graduated from MIT. And his sound that produced he had a patented on it. Which we know as that Boston sound!

Name a bad song on this album. Impossible. EVERY track is a hit. How may bands can claim that from a debut album?
