Hey, landscaper from GER here, i painted tousands of trees so far in Hessen area. We use the white paint to protect them from UV and heat since it reflects the sunlight. On top many bark beetles dont like to chew through it, allthough thats bs in my opinion since especially the Oak bark beetles dont bother at all and we have to add a second coat of protection of poison on top (wich also dont really works if there is allready enough preassure around - wich we do have in FFM area). The white paint works great against uv tho and is easy to apply 👍 I got told that you also use it on new breeds of fast growing trees since the fast grow rates lead to thin bark and they can be prone to cracking and invite all sorts of pests on the cracks. Btw you inspired me to try the jungle durian yesterday here in borneo and it was super delicious!! Mine was perfectly ripe and the smell was so more pleasant than standard durians. Will be here for 4 more weeks and try all kind of cool fruits. Greetings from Borneo, Max

In Poland we mostly paint fruit trees trunks to reduce the temperature difference between the bark and air. It reduces the risk of cracks on the trunk.
