I was at the Maverick show and there were definitely issues. Im not gonna bash them though because I appreciate what they are doing. Same problem as the inagural race at Putnamville keeping the show running smoothly though. Then Rico ran out of fuel in the feature leading and it looked like Allen was too and a caution was thrown. This turned into an open red for refueling with Rico being penalized from the lead to third for being the first car to slow I guess? This whole situation seemed odd. Then there were issues with teams and tire pressures under the red. I dont think Rico was very happy as he didnt attend the podium ceremonies with Allen and KTJ. Hopefully they learn and grow from this.

its a very new series there will be bugs to work out and squash, as was the case with high limit. I am glad we have a winged 410 series in indiana though helps the sport, most from the hoosier state seem to like the non wings better though as they have to be driven more and fly all around the track and as its indiana its closer to the origional cars that we knew for decades, I would love though if they would at least have a night at circle city or kokomo so its not so far to drive, its good though to see terre haute come back and have more then just a handful of events its the last big dirt track we have though we still got big paved tracks and belive me winchester is fun to watch with the speeds they get there like yesterday at the rich vogler classic though it had a high attrition rate of mechanical problems and two cars I think crashed out it was a fun time except for the sunburns I got

Kind of the opposite that happened to Rico in that one High Limit race. I can't remember exactly what happened but Rico was going to be put on tail. Then Larson stopped on the track and told officials to give him his spot back. I may be remembering it wrong though. If so let me know.

That’s in the neighborhood of 75 lbs per horse. Sprints are less than 2 lbs per horse. Sprint probably can’t pull 5 miles of loaded cars tho.

Sprint cars are more in the 1.5 lbs/hp area. Maybe less depending on who ya talk to.

I can promise it's north of 1000 for the customer version..... if it's under 30gs I might get one. Seriously cool stuff going on right now in the world of dirt1🏁🏁🦈

Speedway engines have 950hp 735tq. They showed it what they they built a sprint car a few years ago. They assembled the engine, dynoed it and showed the results .

Is there a point of diminishing returns when it comes to HP? Can you make enough traction to utilize 1000+ hp? It would seem that handling and being able to stay on the throttle would be more important than raw HP? Thanks

In dirt late Models (20 years ago) 1000 hp engines happened early in the Ford race engine development. The issue was driveability, not the ability to make horsepower. Eventually long flat torque curves were developed, that was/is the difference between Chevy and Ford, where and how the peaks are adjusted for track optimization. Driving style and driver's preferences influence the Ford/Chevy decision

I will have to check that out. I like the mechanical side of the sport as it is. Fords and chevy engines dont get "built" the same, each one has their own build procedure that creates the different working outputs. A certain procedure on a chevy will mostly not work well on one make or the other, or atleast on the ones i have worked on or seen built. Chevy has been the most used for a while and the ford engine isnt a new make to the sport but different technologies in-between when they were used last to me will take some time to enhance what they can push out of a motor. Seeing what they do at port royal Selinsgrove and eldora shows they do well at bigger rounder tracks and still have a punch at some others. That being said i think we are seeing what time has done to the tsr team in narrowing down the specs for race day set ups.

The bad think for the Ford motor is it cost more. So even if it was or is as good most will not buy it for that reason. And a lot of people don’t know about it. And how to work on it.

I’m a ford guy. I would love to see more of them. And more Mopar too. Put it’s the cost. And not knowing how to work on them and what to do to they to make them fast and last and win. !!!

Parts and not knowing about it is a decent reason why it won't take off much. Also the big thing is, teams will do what winning teams are doing. That's a very big thing on the midget side, but still pretty common on the sprint car side. If team A is winning with this chassis and engine, then team B is going to buy that chassis and engine package.

@robertraber4770 shaver has already said the Ford performance engine is comparable to the Chevy. They are all expensive

@@timdossett6226 put the fords are way higher in price. The landed engines are $5000 more than a Chevy engines

last year i noticed logan mccandless car had a chevy engine in his sprint car and went to eldora and noticed it has a ford now, whos engines is he using?

My 410 dyno is 745 hp at 728 feet pound of torque. we'll just say in my 25th season I have made friends. !000 I know sound like not to far off my 945 but if he's getting 1000 hp at what point do we say come-on because driver skill is being somewhat taken out of play here. I started wthen these cars was heavier then they are now. I even dusted off my old 410 & let me tell you the older girl just felt better to me because it's heavier I felt more planted in the ground & was putting down decent times.I also feel that todays younger drivers not knocking any of them but I know a kid who went around talking BS about beating Legend Sammy Swindell recently. there is a lack of respect in the pits for old veterans & legends. I met & raced Mark Kinser at 16 raced Lasoski etc but never would have showed the disrespect this kid did respect in the pits for old veterans & legends is disgraceful.. During my conversation with the 15year old he said how is this guy a legend . I told him race him when he was in his prime Sammy would wipe the floor with you. Sorry this turned into a rant about respect in the pits it just sat wrong with me. Oh & yes it was a wealthy kid on Daddys money that also sets me off but thats another story.

Hmmm..I wonder who’s engine they have been copying. Hard enough to get parts for the most popular platform don’t really understand the point of a boutique program but hey, competition will only promote spending even more on engines and subsequent gains.
