Im a 14 y.o. double bassist, who has been playing for 4 years. I've always wanted to play this piece, and this recording has definitely validated my goal. You played beautifully, words cannot explain. Thank you for playing role in my inspiration and keep up the incredible talent!

hey ! me too, i recently played it for my asyo audition and i think its a really achievable goal with enough practice, i wish you well and good luck ! it is a very hard piece, but i also love to listen to his sister's recording - Mikyung Sung, both are amazing players !

Exquisite. How do you play so relaxed? And.. that bass.. I Iove the narrow "Upper Bout width". So sensible. I have just bought a 5/8 for this reason. It's gorgeous, but we'll see.

Perhaps the two best performances of this piece (and most everything else they play!) are now by the two siblings from the "Sung" family...

Minje and his sister Mikyung really are the best... Minje the most technically virtuosic and Mikyung the most emotionally expressive. Together they set new standards for bass playing.

No, it's the german bow, opposed to the french bow. Both have their advantages and drawbacks 👍
