Bottom Grubbing - SUMMER FLUKE / FLOUNDER SMACK DOWN - Hook, Line, and Sinker. First fluke roll out and smack down of the summer. Did a few spot and all started slow on the go. Just feel it in air. Last stop plenty of flukes around smacking up the grubs. Felt that in the air. Lots of robins as well but that another day. Worked the mono line on the mono leader. It was great with just a weight. Hook course. Popped at night that always alright. Summer bout hear.

Next time try taking the hook out from underneath the gills. I recently started trying to learn how to do that for fish that swallow the hook. Sometimes help if you keep pressure on the line and then back out the hook. Had to see it done by the local deckhands of the head boats I frequent. Also asked questions. Keep up the good videos. I really enjoy the videos when you use vintage gear.

Hi Jerry, loved the video. We in Boston get fluke around here but not by much, our water temps. are in the low to mid 60`s right now so we`re having fun in these parts and looking forward to a steady fluke bite one day. Peace and brother love to you and all.

Thats interesting never knew that thought flukes were a staple there. there definite is a climate/gulf stream shift. i bug people out and tell em were still in the ice age. we are!!! Its true, is a weird thought as true as it is!

@@FishYourWay Cape Cod is kind of the line where north of the Cape the population seems to drop of pretty dramatically, but we are known for our Winter Flounder without a doubt. I`m a believer in the ice age bit, but as we all should know, nothing is constant in nature even with patterns, there are always hills and valleys.

Oh heck yea, I think at one time the avg yearly global temperature on earth used to be 221 degrees and another -37 degrees!!! Things change, humans think they so smart lol!!!

Fluke, is also called summer flounder and have large mouths...you can fit a few fingers in their mouth (keeper size 19.5"). A flounder, aka winter flounder has a small mouth, think 1 finger and are a lot smaller. (keeper size 12")

Great points all mentioned. They are all flounders but I would say the summer fluke in this video as compared to the winter flounder would be the mouth as mentioned. Also the flukes eyes are on the left side compared to the eyes on the right side of a flounder. Most people believe winter flounders taste better but I think that is a preference.
