The Battle Of The Year has come a long way. Who would have thought that BOTY would go from starting out in 1990 in a local youth culture centre with 500 hard-core fans to an arena packed with more than 12,000 roaring spectators and b-boy crews from all over the world?
BOTY has grown massively -- and we have slowly realised our vision of developing the spirit of breakdance and creating an international event platform that allows B-Boys and B-Girls from all different countries to express their creativity in front of an ever-growing audience.

Both korean crew were robbed by vegabonds. Those MC were yelling but one breaker one move but french crew was not listening and they kept humiliating them. They wete so repeative but won how?? Last for one was dancing for express themselves it was showing in their dance while vega was dancing for win coz they wete not following in instructions, warning or rule. Their trick is to waste opponent's time by their long time wasting routine. That's how they defeated Drifterz in semi final and Last For One in the final.

Last for one took the battle cause 1st . They dancing in time with beat even power moves was alot more on point 2nd energy levels were way higher an stage presence was better 3rd mixed alot of foundation moves with originals 4th crowd response was in favour of last for one, the only thing vagabonds had was routines mixed with a few good moves but one on one they got smoked.

I'm not agree. The french team is more in phase with the DJ's music and there routines are more creative. B-boying is not just power and technic .

bboystream3 I Find that Vagabonds took more risks (routine without final solo), they tactically chose to win with lots of long and artistic routines, which was uncommon at that time, it's like if they told a story inside the battle. The way they use the space is incredible. They started the battle, which mean they were confident, and in terms of scale , the Koreans did not make weight. This little details surely made them win. By curiosity, why you think this final is a robbery ?

Louis Funk Sorry for the late comment idk i just feel like i didn't understand their routines sometimes like it was interesting but i couldn't comprehend i didn't feel the excitement sometimes too, it could just be that im still evolving like i still got a lot things I've gotta learn , like idk about you but when i first started bboying i only cared about powermove and not toprock or footwork because powermove was so cool but now i do both cause i know more now. I don't know if you understand what im trying to tell you but its ok if you don't understand .

bboystream3 Don't worry man, I understand what you're talking about. Now, I'm not Storm, I'm not a judging specialist, I just descript what I see with my own words and my modest experience. I think the best way to win b-boy competitions is mixing power & originality with foundation (like Vagabonds in this battle in 2006) & I'm agree with you, as time goes by you naturally want to be a more complete B-boy, but I'm against a uniformization of b-boy dancing and political judgement. If a B-boy don't want or isn't comfortable with toprock or footwork or big powermoves, don' do it. The most important is to express yourself in your own way & not to force just because the actual trend is like this or like that. Peace !

+Zephir Magnum My friend, you can't compare bboying 10 years ago, 20 years ago... KZfaq didn't exist back then... now bboys watch videos in streaming on the internet, they learn so much faster... Back in 2000 it was really hard to find videos of bboying... However, i love the atmosphere of that battle! Vagabonds came to win. peace.

I watched this then the 2005 finals, and I have to say, Vagabonds did to Last 4 One what Last 4 One did to Ichigeki. Meaning the eventual winners owned and frustrated the losers. The eventual winners did group routine after group routine after group routine that took a lot of time and patience to the losers.

I find kinda unfair to compare both finals, since half of the final at 2005 were 1v1. And at the end, it was last for one who came back to the solos
