Congratulations! The day I got a fridge for my vehicle was wonderful as well. As a safety backup I keep a digital thermometer inside because there can be discrepancies between what the fridge tells you the temp is and what the actual temp is. Enjoy!

For the long haul: Tie a string loop to the grille and pass the power cord through it, so the cord doesn't kink at the plug. Don't let anybody talk you into MAX mode. ECO is better for the battery, but it will also prolong the lifespan of the compressor. Keeping both sides of the compressor box open to breathe liberally will shed off the heat best. The BougeRV 23 and 30 quart chest freezers are the cream of the crop for efficiency, simplicity, and hot desert performance. You did well.

Chantelle So happy for you! If there are vents, make sure they have plenty of air circulation. You could burn out the motor and it will probably make the motor run harder. That's a great price too.

Congrats! Hope it works well for you. I purchase a Bouge Fridge/freezer, I think 35 L (huge!). Love that it can be all fridge, all freezer, or both, and with sales I splurged, because one priority as I embark on full time van life at age 69 is good nutrition rather than a diet of cookies and fast food 😂 I will be testing it next week, move in date is about June 5. I’m planning to keep some small blue ice blocks and a bottle of water in the freezer in case I lose power/emergencies, and to keep spare blankets on it for insulation.

We have this fridge and we love it! It really takes very little energy to run. Only thing I would change is I’d like to have a basket insert for one side to hold smaller things. Other than that it’s perfect ❤

Congratulations on your new fridge I have that one. I have a smaller model in my dodge grand caravan and I run it off my jackery 290 that I got from Harbor freight and it runs for 2 1/2 days off of that so the fact that you have a 1000 Jackery you should be sad. I think you’ll absolutely love it. I have nothing bad to say about mine either.

My 30liter Iceco will run almost four days on my Jackery 1000, without the Jackery being charged. Your new fridge should be comparable. Be sure the compressor fan has good airflow. It is good to have a blanket or towel to help insulate the fridge. Have fun with it!

I just ordered virtually the same fridge and battery, just a different brand! I hope mine is as good as yours. I've been living in my 2000 Caravan Sport for 2 weeks now. I'm urban stealth camping, but I'm loving every moment! At almost 60, I feel young again. Van life can be very beneficial to you mentally and physically. thank you for showing me that living in a minivan can he comfy and cozy. 💚

Instead of getting a light inside, you get a USB Socket on the top. We plug in a flexible USB Powered Light, so when the door is open, we shine the light down into the fridge. Then when we Close the lid, the light shines down on a cutting board we put on top, so we can see what we're doing.

I like it having its own battery and solar. I am not a vanlifer. You didn’t mention if it could serve as a freezer or fridge. But even if didn’t fridge part would suffice for sure. How exciting for you! Congrats! And they reached out to you!

Thx for reviewing this guy in your minivan. Most 12v fridge reviews are in full sized vans (or bigger). I have a Dometic 25CF that is very unpractical inside for that size, it looks like the same footprint as you new fridge. So I’ve been paying attention to what else is out there since these fridges seem to die at 2 or 3 years (that said, because I’m planning it’s replacement, I’m sure mine will now live 15 years. 🥶

Utah Jeff …. Here …..,I have a high end Cabella’s cooler and it is pretty thrifty on ice…. Will last for 7 days …however, I have been considering purchasing a 12 volt fridge recently just because I don’t have to worry about ice as much. I paid $200 for the cooler and by the time you factor the required ice purchase … and you could carry more refrigerated stuff it is looking like my next purchase

I’ve had the BougeRV 23 Liter fridge in my SUV for two years. I run it different ways: When driving, plugged into my vehicle DC port. When parked or overnight, I use my tiny Jackery 160 (67w). It uses on average, about 35-40%. My power needs are small and the Jackery is predominantly for the fridge. I haven’t had any issues. It’s a little small but any bigger (like yours) and there would be no room for it. Thanks for the review.

YAY!!! I actually carry 2 fridges in my van. A fullsized Ford Econoline. 1 is used for a freezer, 1 for a fridge. TIP: set in ECO mode for even better efficiency. Congrats!

Suggestion, dont block the vent fan and air flow vents or it will not perform well and may fail in the short term, imo

That's a LOT of bags of ice I could buy. $320 w/o the battery pack, I could buy 107 bags of ice @ $3. My last trip, I froze 5 2 quart bottles that lasted 7 days in an Igloo cooler in the FL heat. Your cooler would be good for long term travelers like yourself, not for weekenders. Thanks for your review!

I just purchased the Bougerv 23 qt for $169 free freight on Amazon. This price seems to make a little more sense to me. It’s small, but good for a three day weekend with the 100 watt solar panel and a small power station.

As long as you are never where they are out of ice. I traveled for 5 months last year and there were times ice was not to be found! We used it for our cold water cooler.

🎉Congrats on the new fridge, so happy for you!🎉 Cool fridge! Got a question. I noticed when you're charging your phone, you use the AC/110 plug, why don't you charge it USB it would use less power? If you don't have USB-C they have adapters for the other cord types.✌️💜

No joke on those 30yo (or 40yo) knees on the rocks?! hahahah. I don't think I could have done it (I'd have ripped up that outer box in a heartbeat to kneel on :P) Congrats on the fridge!! Hey, thanks for this. I have been searching around for a fridge for and if I get to build out my vehicle. I have a 2006 Chevrolet Uplander, and I believe this could solve another issue in my plans. I hate to say it but soon as i saw the battery i know its not gonna run that thing for very long. I think $200 extra for the battery would be better spent on something else but that 1000 watt battery should definitely run it good for a while. I would have spent extra money on more solar for the 1000 watt power station.

I have three portable power stations of varying wattages. I wonder if I could dedicate one of them to the fridge exclusively. I really don’t use that much power, most of my stuff is solar/LED powered. Yes, I wish I’d have just splurged on the higher wattage power station but I wasn’t sure what I actually needed. I do love ice though, lol. Does anyone know what the wattage is on this fridge? Too lazy to look for myself. 😂. Never mind, it’s in the title. Totally doable for me! Yay!

I have not found a midsize (30-45q) dual zone refrigerator/freezer that can maintain between 33 and 39° without freezing and going above 39°. i want the coldest drinks without freezing my lettuce.

I'm wondering if it will heat up your drivers seat being so close to it. I had a rv fridge many moons ago (years ago!) and it made my drivers seat and my body to hot being next to me. So I ended putting it in the back seat area.
