Hi Chantal and Joey. You can always stay at Cabela's or Bass Pro Shops, too. They also have a great selection of camping goods to meet your needs and can bring Joey into their stores. The staff will let you charge your Jackery there also while you walk around. It's completely free and you don't have to buy anything. Good luck and happy travels!

Tawas is one of my favorite places to visit in Michigan. It's a bonus that there are a few different dog friendly beaches

I went to Wal-Mart in Alpena, Mi. Last night and I saw your van parked there. Must say I got excited to see your van. It was late like 9:40 pm . I drove by and clicked a pic while passing. Use that beach, that No Dogs sign looks like some hobo put up. It would take a more official city or county sign in good repair posted appropriately.

I'm from Northern Michigan. Can I suggest to you, traveling to Manistee, Frankfort , Empire, all these towns are on Lake Michigan plus SO many more. We also have Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore it's beautiful . Michigan is a beautiful state. Safe travels!

What/where are you charging that the fuse is blowing? I had a similar issue with jackery and cigarette lighter. That is a cheap part that breaks or overheats, causing the fuse to go. A mechanic can swap it cheap

Im sorry your visit to Michigan was disappointing. I live here and absolutely love it here. Being surrounded by the great lakes is amazing. I do have to say though, that I've never had to worry about places being dog friendly, so i wasn't truly aware of how limiting that must be. Your gps was pronouncing Tawas correctly .. that is a beautiful area, along with so many other areas along the water. I hope you find more dog friendly places in the U.P. Travel safe .. its always a pleasure to watch your journey ..

I had to go get a coffee refill when I saw your new video up! Now settled in to watch and am annoyed at your beach not allowing dogs. That looked, to me, like a sign put up by a person not the park. But omgosh! You found such a great spot after. I love iOverlander for finding spots to stay both in my RV and when car camping. I even spend time looking at it when I'm not traveling to check out places I might want to go to, lol! I understand that feeling of loss at the end of a book, lol! What a great park in the rain! Always says something about a place when the washrooms are clean.Bonus on the electricity at the tables! Be safe!-Sue

You're going to love the UP! It's like a different world. Lake Superior has beautiful rocks- I made jewelry for years with some of those treasures. Enjoy!

I would not have paid attention to the faded sign. Pay attention to what you found online. If they changed the rules, they would do it online also. As aa resident of Michigan, the $13 a year with car registration for park support is worth it to get into the parks free. I use it at a local state park to dump my tanks. You and Joey are looking great!

Yep. I’m not through the video yet so I don’t know what is going to happen next. But I can tell you that I drove 1300 miles, to refresh my spirit after my dad died. I spent four years caring for him end of life in my home. And I was crushed. And I got all the way to Michigan and couldn’t do anything with my dogs. I’d like my tourism dollars back.

Tawas pronounced correctly. I would have gone on the beach anyway because of the janky sign and not official. Tawas state park has a dedicated dog beach. I'm from Michigan and I avoid anti dog beaches when looking to camp in the area. It's a bummer sometimes. Stay safe and love to Joey!
