Just an update because I just ordered these...but they do make more square 100 watt panels.. so people with different measurements can measure for different things...it was nice that I can put 6 of these on my sprinter van ... 4 rectangular, 2 square, and fit my fresair AC/swamp cooler and maxxair deluxe fan and the two different sizes are exactly the same electrical specs so I can use a single charge controller for 2 different sized panels and fit the stuff on my roof nice.

Excellent! Look like you’re getting over 7 1/2 A going into your battery after the conversion. they seem to be giving people excellent results amongst the best flexible panels. Much more efficient than my flexible amorphous panels, and your panel being about the same size as my 70W flexible panel that can be rolled up360° as well. I also get higher open circuit voltage from my flexible panels 31 V this helps a little bit during cloudy conditions or overcast skies. Looking forward to spring and sunny days. Right now it’s so cloudy every day it’s hard to get a good evaluation on any panels in the north east United States. Thanks for sharing the test results I appreciate it.

Thank you for the Video. Could you do me a favor and measure the width of the tape on the backside and also the width of the gap between the two tape-stripes?

@@DIYKAI thank you. It is important to me to know that because I own a FIAT Ducato Van and the roof is not a flat surface, it has long "bumps" across the roof.

@@manner1983 ok here is what I got: Panel length 79” Width 14” Tape is 4 pieces: Top and bottom piece span the width and they are 4” wide 14” long The two pieces that run the length of the panel are: About 70” in length and 4” wide Gap between the 2 length strips are 5.5” Hope this helps!

Would 108pct efficiency result in 108 watts.??

Well not necessarily I spoke a little wrong most panels are only 30% efficient at any given time.....this one just produced over but I say if it a 100w panel and production is over that then it's 100%+ lol

@@DIYKAI108 percent of stated capacity… certainly not CLOSE to 100% efficient… it is EXTREMELY RARE for a retail solar panel to produce over 20%… and the data sheet states the panel is 16% solar efficiency…

What it was able to put out and efficiency are 2 different things.

it put out over the rated watts & amps around 108-110 watts so about 10% better than rated

@@DIYKAI Then it should say 108% of rated power, not 108% efficient. For solar panels efficiency refers to how much of the sunlight it is able to convert to electricity.

@@ntrain2k if the panel is rated at 100 w and puts out 100w it's 100% efficient....... I just I can see where your going but it's how you interpret it....because if we are getting technical then the most efficient panel on the planet is only around 30% or so

That's how they get 100+ effeciency. Take a 150 watt panel, understate the specs and market it as 100w and voila! magic.

I have some CIGS panels and I can only be disappointed with this technology. They never exceeded more than 50% of what is indicated on the label, even on cold days with direct sun. The US Army used them and replaced them with Powerfilm amorphous ones.

Man that sucks ALOT has to do with down stream equipment as well what cc and battery did you test it on? We used a MPPT and Lifepo

@@DIYKAI If I use a Victron and lifepo4. The first tests I did on a sunny day with temperatures below zero, I even put a mirror to get more radiation but the 90w panel never exceeded 60w. Theoretically you have to subject them to a "sunbath" when they are new, so that they activate, the same happens with the amorphous ones, but mine have always been tired. They sold them to me as an alternative to amorphous ones, which are capable of capturing a spectrum of light that others cannot, and yes, they did capture even on very cloudy days, but in full sun they did not keep what they promised.

@@minekoiwa2971powerfilm sucks though, sure it’s incredibly durable and flexible af, and all of that, but they are terribly inefficient for the amount of space they cover and extremely ridiculously expensive… My 100w cigs peaked at like 90, on flat ground, 2 days ago, just got it. I hit about 30 W with it with the sky completely blacked out and no sun at all. I don’t know how it’s capable of drawing that much wattage even from no sunlight, but I am more than impressed with this panel. Heck, it’ll draw 15-20w at like 8 am with cloudy skies, and at 5-6 pm even with sun down.
