Nice! I was having a hard time trying to figure out what Matt needed the JLG for till I saw his new property he bought then the light bulb lit over my head.....lol. I didn't think the hood would make the trip home, I was pleasantly surprised it made it. Seeing it at your shop gave me all the confidence it would be restored to working order, not new but workable with a fairly small collection of parts it will be brought back to life. I can see a lot of work on the Castle and lots of fun video's. this just got a whole lot safer. Keep up the good work guy's.

A little dirt in my coffee this morning is always a good thing... As a retired union electrician, I have spent countless hours in all types of man lifts, so this was a kind of a flash from the past. I was actually pretty surprised to see a JLG show up on one of your videos, but can see where this type of equipment could be very useful. If you are going to be using this lift at any serious height I would recommend a body harness and lanyard for any occupants, ( especially if you ever go outside the basket to reach something that would be impossible to reach otherwise, of course I never did anything like that because it would violate OSHA rules!!! ) Congratulations on buying a piece of equipment I never expected to see in a Dirt Perfect video, I should know by now to expect the unexpected. Awesome video... Good job guys... 😎👍 Big thumbs up!!!

I used a JLG for years. I considered it a POC from the day it was bought (new). We had a Genie lift that was old as the hills but it was still a more usable machine. Both machines were propane but the Genie also ran on gas. It never left me stranded at 40 feet, and it ran so much smoother.

I have had a JLG 450AJ II for 12 years now, I got lucky and got it from a rental company that seemed to have good maintenance. Other than a few hose replacements it has been a great little lift. Mine has the 4 cylinder Ford gas engine and all the service points are on one side, so I didn’t know the power pack swung out to access the back side. Good to know. 👍

Awesome video Mike/Mr Millennial you two certainly got it right, absolutely rented/beaten on hard from Absolute Rental and Supply, 🤣 the only thing is they didn't supply you with the rest of the missing parts 😂 it is no surprise, we bought one for our shop ,a JLG , just a step or 2 up from this model in size , ours is dual fuel , propane or gasoline and goes up to 55/60 ft , our shop is 100,000 sq ft and 50 ft ceilings, it was a rental unit and my plant mgr was shocked when i told what it'll look like , i use to be in the business back in the early-mid 90's, so we put some $3k into it prior to putting it into service , the millwrights and our electrician did the work over a weekend at time and a half i might add, we needed it Monday morning to clean out our cooling towers for our heat treat furnaces , it was a real time crunch for us and it worked great, our hood btw was in much better shape than your franked hood ,lol , dam tires cost a small fortune though there's only 2 suppliers in Canada , so we bought then out of the US and still saved money, it has payed for itself 3 or 4 times over is my guess and I'll bet you find in a years time how you got by without one, look forward to the next video on it

Cool video. A lot of boom lifts are "rode hard and put away... ya know". Sometimes there are things wrong that I can't even imagine how it happened. Great job getting it back in order. FYI - 2 things to check that I didn't notice you inspect are the basket tilt function and the leveler switch. When you are using the lift and these 2 things aren't working... it will be the biggest pain in your behind ever. With the "engineered fixes" on your machine, I would guess that the leveler switch needs a little attention. Sometimes only adjustment and some oil on the bearing. Keep them coming! It is funny that a Dirt channel is working on equipment that is meant to take you farther away from the dirt. 😅

Diesel, Nice. They say when you hit 50 cut up your ladders and buy a lift. With the amount of farm buildings to work on I bought a 1999 Genie multifuel Z45-25 and it came with previous owner issues. 😁Wiring grounds, non weather proof switches, hydraulic hose replacements are fun for the boom reaching 40 ft long. Better than visiting the hospital with 2 broken legs after falling off a ladder, it happens. Always store my lift inside when not in use.

You guys do some incredible re- engineering. It is awesome as it benefits others with similar problems. 1. My beef is that you guys never clean the machine up behind the engine. So much oil leaks from long ago. It helps to leave it clean to see if anything has gone wrong from the time you serviced it. 2. Please remove all those old decals from the previous owner and put your info there. 3. Make a weatherproof cover for the control panel to make it last long. 4. If possible some tidying up of the basket and paint. 5. If if possible maybe paint the whole machine. This is a good buy so take care of it. It can make alot of money and get you guys alot of jobs. Looking forward to next video.
