Speaking of people being on their cellphone these days, I was driving(stalled in traffic because of road construction) and within 10' of one another there were two "workers" standing there, shovel and rake in one hand, cellphone in the other, steadily texting and as I set there for approximately 3 minutes, they never looked up, never put their phones up, they just leaned on their rake and shovel, oblivious to what was going on around them. This is why road construction takes years to finish people.

The "lingo" as you refer to it is actually derived from Calo or "Pachuco Slang" during the Zoot Suit days. Its neither Spanish/English nor Splangish, it was a unique language "lingo" brought to LA from El Paso and Ciudad Juarez. Of course the streets changed some of the pronunciation (over the years), but its pretty much stayed the same since....

I seen it I was 15 home on leave from JOB COPS they sent my ass to Oregon none of this co. Ed & not 2 hr away from home like now a days I was the only one there from Chiques Colonia in vta county first movie made bout Chicano life oh there was one it had to be the first coz Robby Benson play lead & trinadad Siva froger from coolers was his side kick back then it was the shit but watch it now & it a joke did we Chicanos look that stupid stereo tiped us as dumb beamers why us a white boy there no Chicano actors back then . Ford galaxy was clean the only thing I can relate to .., 🤔

Did anyone catch 3 things in this scene. First 10 seconds Chuco was just walking and waiting for Big Happy to give him a sign and make a move,which he did at :38 seconds 😂😂 but at :57 seconds he shows he would rank out. I was a kid when I understood that part.
