Crazy, I came here as a 16 year old from out of state and went in here with 2 other guys, 17 and 23 years old, we had maps and headgear and some kneepads but not much else and we explored the hell out of this cave. We went through the Agony and I will freely admit that was a very scary experience for me at that age, we were not smart to go in there how we did but I'd love to go back with someone who knows the cave and try to explore more. To this day it remains my only caving experience and a great memory. We went and ducked in a wide shallow river that flowed nearby and although it was great to get the mud off, i could barely stand the cold water after just leaving that damn cave. Thought I was gonna die in there...

Its one of the biggest cave systems in that region and a friend of mine has led mapping expeditions in this cave and hes had alot of stories with it including hearing about people needing rescued.

Such a great cave I go here all the time for adventures this is such a huge cave and I love it so much!! There’s even an entrance up at the top of the mountain but u gotta know exactly where’s it at to be able to find it, if your ever wanting to go explore it again hmu💯 I’ll tag along with you clear at the back there’s a ladder that u can climb to get into a small room as well it’s amazing

Is the cave still open? I'd love to check it out sometime but I didn't know if it's gated off or anything.

Yes it is. I was in it 2 days ago!

@@AlfysOutdoorAdventures nice. I drove past today on 33 and got curious about the quarry and then I saw there was a cave. I might check it out some weekend.

When you Google map it... Is that the entrance?
@AlfysOutdoorAdventures2 жыл бұрын
Yes thats the main entrance i'm aware of. Ive been told there is a few other entrances into this cave but 1 or 2 have collapsed. This 1 is by far the easiest to access.

There are 4 other entrances up Bickle Run. There used to be a 5th, but it collapsed back in the 70s I believe. They are not accessible from the main cave anymore due to a collapse and a barrier that was built near the Up and Over at the back of the water course. It also does not run all the way to Harmon, WV and never has. It runs up Bickle Run and ends there. The whole area is littered with caves, so there are likely some in or around Harmon, but it’s not this one.
