The Lake District in Cumbria is one of the most beautiful parts of England and Bowness On Windermere is a really great place to use as your base to explore all the other places as they're all just a short drive (or longer walk if you like walking or hiking) away.
Bowness is a really fantastic place to walk around whether it's shopping or eating and drinking in the pubs and restaurants or just wandering along the lake side environment, it's a place of natural beauty and peace and calm.
Bowness-on-Windermere is one of the most popular holiday locations in the Lake District and the easiest way to access the lake, most notably by steamer. It is an excellent base for water activities, including boating and leisurely water attractions, as well as boat hire or family watersports.
Now the Lake District's most popular visitor destination, Bowness-on-Windermere is busy for much of the year. People come to enjoy the lake for sailing and watersports, or just to relax and enjoy the atmosphere of the area and the town's delightful setting.
