Larry you've got your 1.5/5v and 3/12v bridges mixed up. You are running 3v to your light PCBs. If you connect the bridge you're referring to it will be 12v. Recheck your ESU Quick Start Guide.

Another great install video, showing among other things, your incredible patience. Thanks for sharing it. About those dual speakers -- it appears that you wired them in parallel. Wouldn't that wiring arrangement in effect convert the 8 ohm speakers into a 4 ohm load? Wouldn't that in turn tend to draw too much current from the decoder's speaker circuits, and risk smoking the decoder? I've read elsewhere that it's better to install dual speakers in series, which would boost the resistive load to 16 ohms, and reduce the current draw proportionally.

You are right. Wiring in parallel takes the resistance down to 4 ohms. But the Loksound decoders are good to 4 ohms. I seem to get better sound out of them at this range.
