Hi everyone, like I mentioned in the description, I spend a lot of time on the up-throw combos to be very detailed, the entire first 5 minutes of the video in fact. Wanted to be really thorough in this video. If you found it helpful, do hit the thumbs up and subscribe and lmk in the comments if you wanna see a comprehensive guide!

This is a really helpful video, but as a Bowser main, I'd like to add some things 1) You can double jump for up air combos at 0. I always do this just so that I don't have to worry about changing my inputs. You want to input your double jump and A (or c-stick) at the same time. This buffers the aerial making it work more easily 2) Back air is also true out of up throw at early percents, but the timing is pretty tight. I find it worth going for on characters who are harder to hit with nair 3) Often times you can connect a side b after nair. Nair -> fair -> side b is true, and an excellent way to rack up early damage if you can find a nair 4) Up air will hit almost any character, not just big ones. Nair is still usually the better option, but you can get a slew of combos off of up air, so it's a mixup at the least 5) Up tilt does true combo, the percents are pretty specific and finnicky. I usually follow up with a side b, but aerial up b, and a second up tilt will also work as follow ups. You almost always should use reverse up tilt, as the hitbox is better from behind than in the front, and the move will be harder to punish since there isn't too much lag after the hitbox ends. This move benefits a lot from pivot canceling Here are some tips before I go Short hop side b out of shield is a crazy good option. The hitbox comes out frame 9 (including jumpsquat), so you can use this to punish someone hitting your shield, or if they just whiff in the wrong place, like off of ledge. This will completely whiff on shorter characters, or moves that shift a characters hurtbox below a certain point. Some characters it only works if they're shielding. If you're having trouble short hopping side b, you can set two buttons to jump. If you press both at the same time you'll short hop. Alternatively, if you hit a and b at the same time, you'll perform a buffered short hop special If someone whiffs an edgeguard when you're offstage, often times you can punish with a jump dair. It can be an excellent way to stock trade If you hit the close hit of fair at mid percents, it's worth trying to go for a jablock. People don't expect to get hit from behind by fair, they often miss the tech. Down smash is the best follow up out of a jab lock because it gives you stage control and can set up for a ledgeguard or edgeguard I hope this helps someone. If anyone has any questions about Bowser I'd be happy to answer to the best of my ability

@@jacobgans9231 The best way to improve for for a long time is to just grind ranked until you're high up in elite (when you only get a couple of hundred ranks per win). @phy_
@phy_ 4 жыл бұрын
RyanRizza thanks man glad you enjoyed it ! For what you asked, I’d say it’s important to learn the match up first of all. Understand what the character wants and looks for. Pikachu for example usually camps with tjolt and looks to get us off stage. I try to beat tjolt by jumping over with fire breath or fair. But im ready to have a diff tjolt hit me and having him approach. At this point, you have to figure out what the player goes for. Is he aggressive, is he grab happy, will he throw an aerial? Knowing what he’ll do allows me to punish properly. So yeah know the match up, but also see what the specific player’s tendencies are. You’ll pick this up through the match as long as you keep your eyes open and are actively studying them as you play

Buffering any input just means to be putting the input while you’re in the middle of another. So for example, WHILE I’m in the up throw animation (while bowser is spinning) I’m holding (buffering) jump, so he’ll jump immediately after the up throw is done

I can’t do the combo after about 20-30% because then it needs a double jump. I’m still confused on the buffet system and how to buffer and double jump. I can’t get these upthrow to aerials down even after hours of practice in training mode. Any help would be much appreciated!
@gamingmaster6377
@gamingmaster6377 3 жыл бұрын
I may be wrong, but I think it's like this. When the upthrow is about to end, hold the jump button, and release it BEFORE you actually jump. Then, in the air you input jump + aerial attack (I don't think you can short hop in the air, so don't worry about that), and you should do it "frame perfect" and thus, get a true combo. Remember that airdodge takes a few frames to get i-frames, and some characters have a faster one than others. Sonic, per example has a faster airdodge (2-3 frames), and counters, I think, are frame 1, so heavier characters should be easier to hit with the double jump thing, as their airdodge is JUST a bit slower (5 or 6 frames maybe I'm not sure).
