Amen to that. Don't listen to modern country. Grew up with Roy Acuff, the Wheeling Jamboree, Hank Williams, Grandpa Jones, Minnie Pearl and her straw bonnets, Louisville, and WSM radio Grand Ole OPRY @ the Roman. Such wonderful stories in each song. 🎉

Loved seeing him at his theater in Branson. He did 30 yrs in the USAF. Great intertainer.

I was fortunate to see Boxcar Willie in Branson,Mo back in 1996. He was awesome & so down to earth. Visited with all of us after the show in his train museum. My 2 yo loved him. And yes that natural train whistle that comes out of his mouth is amazing!

Man,, if only,, I was born 23rd May 1968 from northern Ireland UK, so wouldn't have no way to see this great man, but grew up hearing his songs over here in northern Ireland UK,! As well as other great singers , in country,! God Bless, 🤝♥️🇬🇧

I loved Boxcar Willy!! Country music these days is not real country music!!! I grew up in the 1960's and 1970's the music was a lot better!!

I got to meet Boxcar Willie in Newport South Wales United Kingdom back in 1991. What a brilliant evening we had. He was such a nice man to talk to. I had a photo taken with him and he signed his autograph on a cassette box for me.

No-one and I mean no-one could make a train whistle sound like Boxcar. He sounded so much like a train that I would get out of the way because I thought for sure that one was a coming...I heard Boxcar in person maybe over a hundred times

I was a huge fan of Boxcar, and was actually called to do my train whistle during the fan segment of Nashville Now with Ralph Emory. It was 92 if I can recall. Me 5 minutes of fame!!

i got to meet boxcar willie when i was a kidbut when i wanted his autograph he refused to sign mine card but signed cards to 50 other people so at that point of time i hate him and never forget that time he hurt my feelings.
