Boxing Centipedes and Some General Care
Following on from our boxing up and posting out series today we are concentrating on Centipedes, including the Darwins, a true giant at 12 inches long and a girth not to be sniffed at !!
So if you're sending out a centipede to it's new home this video is a must for you, we're sharing some of our tips & tricks and hope you find it helpful.
We also cover the best environment these wonderfully fascinating Little Beasties like to be kept in :)

Any time I have a question about certain invertebrates I can almost always find info on your channel. One day I worry youtube wont be free for everyone, because it's such a valuable tool for sharing information. Thank you for all you do Dave and Camera Lady!

Centipedes are my biggest insect fear. The way you are handling them is gonna give me a heart attack.

@@daveslittlebeasties haha I’ll take your word for that I’ve personally never kept one and don’t think I will any time soon a friend of mine has every creepy crawly you can think of and I’ve seen these little gits get very Agro haha I ran to the bath room and put a towel under the door hahaha 🤣 great video though once apon a time I wouldn’t even watch a video on beasties until a “ friend “ of mine dropped a darn great tarantula in my lap and said sit still it won’t bite because I’m a big softie and didn’t want to hurt him I sat there when I calmed down I put my hand in front of her and she let me handle her from that moment I fell in love with tarantula my mate still got a slap but it was what I needed to sort myself out haha I don’t dislike any creature but some just scare the poop out of me haha 😂 have a great weekend Dave

I find your videos impressive and most valuable. I’m not deceived by how easy you make rehousings seem. I truly can’t find such good examples and strategy as yours. Thank you much. I even appreciate your foraging video. I have been foraging for a while but scarcely.

Ever since childhood (50 yrs!!) these centipedes have really disturbed me. I can barely take small house centipedes but these, I can't. I think it's their giant size and the different color legs. These big ones, and giant millipedes just get to me. They are fascinating but I'm really freaked out by just looking at these. Lol 57 year old baby

Hi Dave, am i right in saying that these centipedes are found in the USA and South American rainforests like the Amazon, would you ever consider getting a Brazilian Wandering Spider for your collection, loving the videos, watched about 5 spider ones already on KZfaq!! 😀 😀 🕷️🕷️🕷️

They have the strongest tinsel strength in their silk. They made clothes from it for a Chinese ruler took 7 years to make.

Loving miss peaches 🍑 she is a sweetheart terrified of those centipedes thanks to you my rehouse of my Hapalopus sp Columbia large , tliltocatl albopilosum Nicaragua and my Acanthoscurria geniculata was the smooth as silk no hair kicking or anything

I watched another vid of centipede handling & the guy had a pair of forceps with pieces of foam rubber glued to the two ends so he could just pick them up - have you tried that method? Another interesting one where a (crazy) guy wanted to get bitten by a centipede & I was amazed at how much the critter didn't want to bite him - he had to really pxxx it off

Hi Oliver, the hoop is hanging by fishing line from the ceiling she has climbed to the ceiling once and I just put her back on the hoop and she has never left as long as there fed there's no reason to move 😂😂👍

I read some articles about them, and some people say they have multiple generation together and doesn't have any problems, i kept my alone(becouse they really hard to get in my country) and no problem there too.
