Ik its different but how much exactly is the difference of no gi compared to this? Is one inherently and undeniably better? Because you'd think from watching anyway that no gi is more versatile (always reliable/better for certain combat sports) and practicing with gi helps you take advantages of clothes (gaining good grips and leverage from them) which everyone usually wears😂
@JaredMcwilliams11510 ай бұрын
@DrthSmittyWerbenJagermanJensen I promise you, it's like two different animals of feeling, my first time trying out gi (started no-gi) was only a few months ago. it feels like you suddenly have an extra layer of skin that you can kinda squirm in but also that anyone else can S T R A N G L E you with... it's terrifying when you have both hands and feet of your opponent, you know you do, and your still getting strangled.

Give up has nothing to do with tapping out, it means to stop trying or to not ask for another round or to not get back on the mat/cort/field/project. Being able to tap quicker demonstrates that you have a higher understanding of your body and the situation that you find yourself in. The more experience you have, the sooner you are able to tap. Think of it like a grandmaster chess game where one side will resign when it appears to the novice to be still in the middle of the game. The grandmaster can play out 10 moves into the future and understand that the situation is hopeless.

in a controlled setting maybe. on the street the rules that protect grapplers in MMA dont apply such as blows to the back of the head and 12 to 1 elbows

@@yimpyoi9808 I’ve always hated this argument. It’s as if the rules don’t hold back grapplers as well. Do you not think grapplers would have additional advantages too if there wasn’t rules?
@np405710 ай бұрын
@@jordanthompson5941depends on how many people there are in the fight. If it’s 1 vs 1 then grappling has a huge advantage on the streets but if it’s 2 vs 1 or 3 vs 1 you don’t want to be on the ground or someone’s going to kick you in the head.

@@jordanthompson5941If you slam me on my head and put in a rear naked choke my homies are going to stomp all over your head, I think that's the point people are making with that argument. Also you wouldn't feel the need as a trained fighter to fight dirty against somebody you know you can easily beat in a fair fight, usually dirty fighting is a surprise that comes out of nowhere which gives the advantage to the person who initiates it first.

I think it’s great you are humble enough to step outside of your expertise. Many people can’t because they don’t want to loose at something they know they are not good at.
