Boxing Footwork | Beginner Drills | Step While Punching

Defense and offense are at the core of boxing technique & tactics. Head movement, blocks, and footwork are three of the most basic skills any boxer can have in their arsenal.
In this video FightCamp Co-Founder and Trainer Tommy Duquette talks about the importance of footwork. If you’ve noticed, when two fighters are in the ring they are moving all over the place. That’s because footwork is being used to avoid, attack, and advance in the boxing ring.
It may sound silly, but learning to move while throwing punches is a bit like dancing. You need coordination, balance, and training to do it well and stay out of reach of your opponent. It’s also how you can master intricate heavy bag drills, and increase your cardio efforts when boxing for fitness or fun.

I dont understand what you mean by push of the ball of you foot but this was a very informational video thank you.

Do you know the part of the foot that you stand on when someone tells you to stand on your toes? Like your doing calf raises? That's the part of the foot that's called the "ball". So basically your weight is in toward your toes and your heels are slightly raised and you push off the " ball" of the foot to move forward. I hope that helps.

Boxing has been around a lot longer and has more investors/businesses involved in seeing its success come to fruition. MMA has a bit but not like boxing.

@@gerardocovarrubias3058 Kickboxing for sure. It's never been too popular in Western countries, which would be missing a huge chunk of the market. MMA, with enough time and consistent talent/popularity, it might catch up one day but not any time soon.
