Seeing a robot, with industrial strength machinery for limbs, beat a human into a bloody pulp while making childish innocent quips is both terrifying and hilarious.

Chappie is proof that you don't have to continually make cliche evil robot or evil AI movies. For once, the robot is what its maker taught it, as all life would be.

Chappie: "No hurtings, no violence." Also Chappie: *Does hurtings, does violence*

Chappie beat Hugh Jackman up so bad, that he learned to appreciate robots and started using them to fight in Robot Boxing Matches.

Chappie holding his belt loops after rubbing his nose always gets me. You cripple that bad man, you adorable street bot, you!

I love this, Chappie saying stuff my son would say to a bully, but with the unbreakable strength of a machine. Jackman showing the character of mankind, for good or bad, giving 100% even though he's outmatched. Beautiful stuff.

The walk, the talk, the hands movement, everything about chappie is gangster.

Love how they gave him literally THE MOST Australian haircut ever.

Love the camera work in this movie, they dont zoom in too much, they dont cut too fast from scene to scene, the pacing just feels right and you get to enjoy the details of each scene. They also shoot at angles and heights that are relatable to if you were there. It just feels so clean. Unlike michael bay's films.

One of the movies where I'm glad the bad man didn't immediately die. He deserved to go through all that pain.

I always loved how Chappie says "No hurtings!" and "No violence!" as he is literally beating him to death. lol

The G-Walk was the greatest thing Chappie was ever taught.

I love this film. Everyone out in it is out to _use_ Chappie for themselves, to advance careers, get rich, or, in a more morally gray 'use' of chappie, and less inherently evil, Dev Patel's "Deon" character wants to use AI for the good of everyone, and for him to be the one to have done it, it doesn't seem selfish, but it is, quietly, as he does it in _his_ name, not the company's, which causes the conflict with a jealous co-worker. And Chappie has to navigate all of that all while not understanding any of it, and just understanding the words used by those around him to discern their motives. Hugh Jackman's character really didn't use their words well.

Even without his healing factor, he took those hits like a champ.

I loved how Jackman was able to huminize the villian and be incredibly scary and judgemental at the same time.

Chappie was one of the most heart ripping experiences of my life. I would watch it again but... I can't. I just can't.

I would have loved to see a second movie involving their travels with Deon learning how to work with his new body and a Chappie working through his grief

This is my favorite Niell Blomkamp movie so far. I don't know why it doesn't get the recognition it deserves. I even liked Die Antwoord being in the movie. They impressed me really.

If I had a nickel for every time I've seen Hugh Jackman in a movie about robots that can fight, id have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.

Chappies swagger never got old. The walk, the nose rub, the way he talked, just perfect.

The amount of personality in him, even when he puts his hands in pockets that he doesn’t have is small things that rewatching was so incredible

Its was this moment where both the audience and Moore were soberly reminded that Chappie's body was in fact made to shrug off small arms and manhandle people like they're dolls

The actor really gave it all for this movie he died and then transferred his consciousness into a robot that’s DEDICATION

This was a fantastic movie. Someone said Marvel should take notice of the CG in this and I wholeheartedly agree. It was pretty flawless.

I love how he talks and acts like the people that raised him

This movie had a lot of flaws, but I still think Chappie is an excellent character and makes the movie totally worth it.

I will be forever mad that this isn't considered an instant classic. It's so good. But at least there seems to be more and more people that got to see / appreciate it! Not saying it's Shakespeare. It's just a fantastic take on the robot-gets-sentience genre. A modern day Short Circuit.

The fight ending line "Now I'm gonna forgive you bad men " is masterpiece and LOL 😂😂😂

I love this movie! It was simply a fresh and fun experience. Chappie’s character was brilliant.

bro chappie really did gave jackman "there are fates worse than death" to a whole new level of beating the meat out of jackman

His vocabulary is still that of a child on some areas. “No hurtings” and “No violence” are phenomenal lines that would apply to a child. In a few aspects, Chappie is still a child. A child with inhuman strength and a love for his people. This is more or less what could happen if a child had the ability to fight back

I love how this final scene Chappie uses everything he's learned up to that point being a tough gangster, but also not using guns and at the same time not going on a murderous rampage and forgiving his worst enemy when he could have easily gone on a spree. Such a shame they never made a second movie. But then again it might have been hard to.

Really loved Hugh Hackman in this role you so rarely see some actors be the BAD guy so this was nice to see him switch it up

I always remember my machine shop teacher saying "Remember, a machine won't stop because your screaming, it doesn't care your bleeding, you show it respect because it doesn't respect you."

Love the way that Jackman's character knows how dangerous Chappie can be, but engages him anyway. The soldier through and through. This is an awesome movie on so many levels.

I will NEVER understand why this movie didn't get great reviews. This was a hilarious movie, with great effects, good characters, good performances. The plot mightve been a little bit jumbled but my god this movie was funny. This movie and District 9 are underrated masterpieces in my eyes. Although I do know people are far more appreciative of D9

For every scene in which Huge Ackman gets his ass kicked we get one more Ryan Reynolds smile in the world.

Love the fact that you added the end of the movie, the part where Deon's conscience gets transferred, really nice.

I cried when Chappie said “let me get you new body” when I first saw this, he’s just so pure 😭

This movie honestly Did a really good job at making the “protagonist” a hero on the wrong side. The character Jackman plays isn’t necessarily bad but in the perspective of who Chappie is with hes the antagonist, because let’s be honest, Chappie’s “parents” aren’t good people, While Chappie is just innocent minded caught in the middle of all this. At least that’s what I got out of it

One detail I never noticed is how when Deon is transferred into the robot his movements and mannerisms are more quick, more fluid and human like compared to Chappie's more stiff movement.

He doesnt kill for reveange. He just gives lessons and then forgives. a truly example to follow

That robot had mor character development and personality than Kristen Stuart in all the twilight movies.....

That wrench through in the beginning is f*ing brutal. I got hit by a similar sized wrench that someone had tossed to be, and I fumbled the catch and it hit me in the chest, leaving a pretty nasty bruise. And that was from a friendly “here, catch” so if someone actually whipped one at you ☠️☠️

I watched Chappie long ago, but I totally don't remember this, I need to rewatch, it's so good.

This is the movie that NEEDS a sequel. Why don't we ever get the sequels we want but Hollywood tears it's own limbs off to give us the sequels nobody asks for😭

One of the finest sci fi films in decades. As usual, underappreciated.

Really wish they made a 2nd movie. Neil Blomkamp’s movies are always pretty great showing potential world changing events and how they could and most likely will be mismanaged, corrupted or preyed upon by humans who see robots or in the case of Chappi AI as nothing more than a tool for humans and as with district 9 how our first alien contact was impressive at first but soon became more of a burden and the prawn became 2nd class to the humans. Also gotta love the South African flair & grit Blomkamp brings to each of his movies.

The ending was so odd, normally a movie dealing with consciousness and putting the mind in a machine goes for something like it’s a dream and you can’t cheat death, but having the characters literally do that fills the mind with questions and it becomes more memorable instead of just a sad ending of them dying or one dying and the other moving on.

Chappie was a completely different movie. It talked about so many things, like District 9, such as discrimination, government corruption, predatorial corporatism and even stuff like learning to love. And instead of making a tragic ending, it gives a hopeful yet uncertain ending. It's such a powerful statement, to give the viewer something outside the box, not a great orchestral happily ever after, but a pseudo-realistic, humane finish.

chappie was an amazing movie on what it meant to be alive sadness, happiness, joy, lost, pain, and insurmountable change, we will all change for better or worse

There was always something funny about seeing Hugh getting tossed around being the tough guy for so long lol.

Lol imagine having to tell people you got into a fight with a robot, not much of a fight but a fight and he utterly smashed you into the hospital…. It would almost be worth it
