Boy George's most underrated song. Jubilant and infectious.

I had the privilege of meeting him once. During his visit to Mumbai back in 1989/90, he stayed in a beach side house close to my home.

I'm an atheist but I love the Hare Krishna maha mantra. Its very catchy. Sometimes calming, sometimes stimulating. I stopped eating meat for some reason when I started chanting.

I almost forgot! The high female vocal is Asha Bhosle, one of the most revered singers in Indian history. She has sung on over a thousand Bollywood movies and has been performing for SIXTY years. It would be like having Ella Fitzgerald on a record. She was amazing to record....

Just chanting Hare Krishna fills me with so much joy. Life feels complete and full of meaning. Haribol!

I had never heard this song until last night, when he sang it at the Krsna temple. I can't believe it, it's great, it's catchy and worms itself into your brain, I keep singing it. I lived on an isolated island for ten years, that's the only explanation for it.

Those who have been to India probably understand how this song manages to illustrate what's in the air over there: spiritual and relaxed, India has got a totally unique atmosphere. Well done George for putting it all in music for us:-)

Possibly my fav Boy George track (next to The Crying Game) because it's so joyful - perfect homage to the GOD who incarnates on earth in order to play ("lila"), in contrast with the other GOD who incarnates on earth in order to suffer.

I was a Hare Krishna devotee in Los Angeles in November of 1991. I asked the temple president if I could appear with Boy George on stage at his concerts that were about to happen. He said no. Bummer. Awesome song, though. Hare Krishna!

I saw BG perform this in Sheffield a fortnight back and he and his band for the evening were fantastic. I'm not even 'a fan' and know nothing of his career (I attended as a care worker) but he was great and this song in particular was sublime.
