In 1986 Boy George sat down with Good Morning America to talk about his new album with Culture Club "From Luxury To Heartache" and the smash hit single "Move Away".

"Move Away" was an underrated hit. By far one of my favorites. Fell in love with that track listening to it while on my way home from my trips.

This look is too much. Boy George has grown into a handsome man!!!! I know what's it like to live in that " fucked up" drug life...I've been there. Now, I am in my fifth year sobriety and it was admittance, faith, love, support and strong faith that pulled me through. There IS hope.

even though this interview came at a not so great time in his life, this is still one of his most stunning looks. and no matter what he is honestly always so insightful and truthful about everything. my favorite thing about boy george is how intelligent he is. can't wait to see him for the first time in august!!!!!!!!

I looked this up because in his book he said he started taking so many drugs by then, he had to be woken up, he slapped on some foundation drew on his eyebrows and sunglasses. He said he was wheezing through the interview too.

He´s not copying Elton John and even if she was he wears the hat and the clothes better than Elton John. I really like Boy George a lot and I'm glad that he got clean from Heroin and that he's now in a happy place and continuing to make music with Culture Club. :)

He was super thin certainly because of substances. And then he probably made an effort to look his best, too. But the end result is amazing for sure. He looks like a very pretty model.

@@Bellasie1 in his book he states that he got very little sleep the night before and wore the glasses to hide that. He then said he had never looked so wretched for a TV appearance. Which is so funny because this look is amazing and it really does look like he thought it through. That man has style even on his bad days ❤

More than one thing. I had always thought that George was WAY TOO SMART to even DABBLE in drugs!!!! Your comment was the only one I have seen... so far.... that really tells it!!! Thank you

Interesting that in this interview he talked about how he despised the business part of music but his interview about the band splitting and his love life were very business answers because the band broke up soon after this interview and broke up with with the drummer, Jon Moss.

Every American interviewer I have seen, seems to have a negative undertone’s and obsessed with what he wears. He has a great voice and can write. The band are tight. Always surprised UK artists are so popular in the States.

Oooo..... Yes, United Kingdom bands HAVE been so popular in the United States. I have witnessed ignorance on the part of some interviewers, also. Yes! George's voice IS great. Matter of fact... He is about the only singer I want to hear? And yes... George has written some beautiful songs

I CAN'T say I'm surprised British bands are very popular in the US, it seems like it's been that way since the early 60's, starting with the Beatles and the Rolling Stones.

This is about the time George started to be LESS FORTHCOMING. He ALWAYS " claims" to be single, but at the time of this interview he had hooked up with Michael Dunne, who he lived with for a good 10 years. According to his comments, he's been single since his time with Jon Moss, nothing could be further from the truth.
