Man what a great hunt! there's nothing more special than sharing moments like this with your children. I filmed my 13 year old sons first whitetail with a bow this year. It means more to me than any hunt I've ever had of my own. Congratulations Young man! Well Done!

THAT is what its all about man. that video just gave me chills thinking about the first time my daughter shot a deer with her bow. The look of excitment , the tears of joy. Good stuff man, thank you for sharing.

This “Boy” has an excellent release and in the opening of this post the adult with the fancy recurve bow also has an outstanding release! No plucking and pulling the nock point left or right just straight back for a perfect shot! Great lesson! Now the remaining part of the post .🐻🐻🐻🐻

Gunshy Archery family rocks!! Amazingly lethal shot for a 40 lb bow on a good sized bear.

Kinda shows that bears are not all that hard to kill. I imagine that bow is 40# @ 28" and the boy had lots of arrow sticking out front at the shot, so maybe 22" or so, which puts the actual poundage at under 30. The shot was a little high, but looked like it got enough penetration to take out both lungs. Congrats on a great hunt for that young man. As a dad and grandpa, I can say that the young man was no more thrilled than his dad!

He said in a reply that it’s a 50 pound at 40 for his draw but yes if that were the case that would be amazing 😀

@@30cpe The Bow was 50@28" He was pulling around the 40lb mark. 40lb is min legal where we are in Saskatchewan. So I had to scale it at his draw. Not to say he short drew and it was below 40 at the shot. Because, that does happen!

@Fatherland Child Like we said in the video, “Bearly” made it 80 yards... (see what I did there😉). So about 10 seconds... even I can run further than 80 yards in 10 seconds so that’s being generous. Thanks for watching.

Why didnt the bear attack? I always heard that predator animals are dangerous at such a close range, because once they're hit they get aggressive. I've seen it in other videos.

The kid is pulling too much weight with his long-bow he can't hold it back all the way and keep it at full draw, he needs to lower the poundage of his bow or get a new bow with a lower poundage

I agree there is something repulsive about hunting over bait as shown and several states agree and prohibit it. It appears the state he is hunting in does not. Therefore he is following the rules. But it is low class to call this person names for his opinion, also held by many outstanding hunters, that baiting is not sportsmanlike. You may not agree with this but try to keep the conversation civil. Otherwise you demean hunters everywhere and we do not need that!

Some people never hunted for bear obviously or never read regulations. Good on you young man, you got him good. Split finger snap shooting is just more fun, no need to hold you just let that arrow fly where your eyes are looking. This kid will only get better as time goes by. Keep it up, don't let internet police sverwe you from it.
