I was attended a funeral for a good friend, a lady well known for her sense of humor. She had written her own farewell message, and it was brief! "We are here to say goodbye to Sharma. She died of natural causes. Probably the first natural thing she has done in years."

The "murr" thing was a joke from earlier on, how his family would say "murr" whenever something said (when taken out of context) sounded sexual

My dad's funeral was funny as fuck, he was cracking jokes right up to the point he was struggling to stay awake, would take him like 10 seconds to get one word out but he would crack up laughing when he finished the joke. Amazing spirit, I miss him so much

I watched him live in Manchester, this story is just amazing. He didn't just come to his last show in Bristol "where Russel lives" he came to every live show. And Russell told everyone this story and it puts on your heart strings. That's one thing I love about Russell Howard he does 1 hour of jokes and then tells you a heart warming story about someone he has met. You don't see alot of comedians doing that, and that's why he stands out to us British people. He makes you laugh and to Finnish a story that will make you cry.

When my grandad died he wanted a New Orleans style funeral, we live i the countryside in the uk in a smallish which is mostly white like 95% 😂😂😂🇬🇧🙏🏻 have to say it was a great send off for him. And I still see people like ten years later that say what a great funeral it was an im sure my grandfather would of love a laughed about. He loved jazz & blues we are an all white Christian family. Buy on that day we had a blues band do all the songs in the church an a live jazz band playing on the back of an open truck from the church to the cemetery an will the coffin was being lowered. He's known for being able to find the good and the funny in even the darkest situations - in his show 'Russell Howard's Good News,' which was him poking fun at the news and current politics of the week, he would always end with an inspirational piece about some unsung hero doing something brave/amazing/compassionate for their community. I love Russell Howard and I've watched this clip a few times, it's hilarious! The thing is, what has come out is that Deryn's (that's the boys name) family were a bit sneaky because during the days he had only days to live, he was naturally experiencing anxiety so his family went and sneaked some cannabis oil and gave it to him. That was what had "cured" (it more like helped the situation) him, cannabis oil 😅 Because we in the UK still haven't legalised it in any way really, I mean the police have sort of finally got it in their head that there are worse criminals in the countries than potheads smoking a bit of weed. So they don't get prison time as much as they would a few years ago, unless you're supplying then you're in proper trouble. *EDIT* By the way the "Murr" they say, is an in joke where whenever Russell's family says something that sounds a bit dirty (Us Brits love innuendo) they will say "Murr" and a recurring thing is that I think it's his mum, who will say it when it doesn't need to be said like not even dirty sounding 😂

I too love the wording of 'fight fear with funny', as I have been doing that on and off (making parody artwork, posters, memes and animations) and when required to do so for my entire life...a lot of people don't grasp it, consider me a 'dick' for 'not taking something seriously', but nothing stands against the onslaught of laughter I have found, and I will continue to engage in such a manner...;)
