A boyfriend hilariously fainted right at the crucial moment during the birth of his first child. Zach Parker, 28, could be seen bending over and looking queasy as his girlfriend Peyton Stewart, 25, gave birth to their baby daughter, Ryan. With nurses and midwives focusing on the mom and baby, Zach turned to see his new daughter, but instantly felt his legs go from under him. As medical staff realized he was about to faint, they rushed to grab him. The hilarious moment was caught on camera thanks to Peyton’s mom, who had been dialed in on a video call moments after Ryan was born.

I’ve been there. You wait nine months…You know you have a child coming, but not like the mother does. She feels the baby…inside…every minute. You’re up for hours driving to the hospital…all night through labor…Then BLAMMO!!! The baby arrives, what you couldn’t feel before, you feel all at once…You’re excited, elated, overjoyed…then hot and dizzy with emotion. I was fine during delivery, but while I was watching my son on the table/tray under the warming light and I had to to sit down by an air vent. I wanted to be a dad my whole life, and in my early 40s it finally happened. But I knew I was about to hit the floor so I ran for that chair 😏

Laughter is a first natural reaction. Mostly because men, in general, discount women for being women. We are “weak, dumb, emotional, etc.”. When a woman has a baby, her adrenaline kicks in as her body knows it has a job to do. She is laid back and in a reposeful position as soon as the baby comes out. Daddy, on the other hand, if he has never seen birth, can be overwhelmed by the sight of the birth as well as the feelings of fatherhood rushing all over him. It can be so sudden that his body may not be ready to produce adrenaline to keep him upright as there is no threat, and he is not doing the labor to bring the baby out. Bless this young fellow! He did a good job.

I begged for the operationtabel, I wish they could open the window so I could jump out. Instead they would hold me down and none of the painrelieves they given me was working. As a LND nurse you look out for the dad as well. If you pay attention they started paying attention to him once babe was good. They saw the potential, kept watch while attending to mom and dad, and then the nurse stepped behind him to guide him down to the chair so he didn’t get hurt when he went lights out. We are constantly assessing everyone just by looking. The doc wasn’t the only one paying attention if you look. There’s a reason for multiple team members. We’re there for mom, babe, and even dad. 😁 I promise there is a reason for everything we do even if it doesn’t make sense or may irritate some because it may not seem important, but we’ve done this a time or two so we know and prepare for practically every scenario. That’s why that went so smoothly.

Heather LC Don't know what an LND is but I'm guessing some type of American health care worker? As a British midwife and an autonomous practitioner , we don't typically have a " team" in our labour room for deliveries. It's usually just us ( one midwife,) the labouring mum and up to two birth supporters for mum. One of which can be expectant father or partner. So we become very skilled and adept at managing all aspects of the labour and delivery, whilst giving care and attention to everyone present. Dad's are constantly observed to make sure they're coping. The delivery especially is the time when Dad's are more likely to head towards the deck. The signs are sometimes subtle but we can usually see its imminent and get them sitting down, head between their knees before they crash out.! Its quite an art in itself! 😊

@@janiceal-najjar5093 LND is labor and delivery. There is typically the nurse for mom, nurse for babe, and the doc. If it’s a teaching school or if there is a new nurse being oriented then they are in there. That looks like might be the case here since there are more than 2 nurses. But, as in anything, you work as a “team”. Even with the new parents/patients. You can tell they knew he was struggling and as soon as the babe was good they were able to change focus long enough to get dad to safety instead of him falling across mom and babe (cuz that was where he was going first if you look😳 😂) Bless his heart. I would always make sure there was a seat close every time. I was babe nurse so I always focused on dad and babe. I’d get that babe skin to skin while still making sure dad was handling things ok. I’d already had that dad in a chair and the side rail down but that’s just me and I wasn’t there the whole time. 🤷🏼‍♀️

He gave it his all to hold it together, poor guy just got overwhelmed. Happens often actually. Every time I gave birth they asked my ex husbands if they were going to faint and to sit if they felt it coming on. I always let them know I wouldn't be upset if they weren't directly at my side for the birth because of something like that, it's not exactly controllable lol. Congrats to these new parents on the baby and seemingly healthy birth, well done both of you!

When my wife gave birth to our first son i remember i didn't sleep for at least more than 48 hours 😅 On the estimated birth date of my son i wake up early in the morning and started preparing, i was so nervous i can't even stay still that day, i waited the whole day and then she started to feel the contraction at around 6 pm, me and my brother-in-law then drove her to the hospital, when we get there the nurse told us that it's only the first stage of the opening (10 in total, and only after reaching the stage 10 that someone is ready and allowed to give birth) and we have to wait till the next morning, the whole night i couldn't sleep cause the contraction that my wife felt was growing more painful each hour passed, she grabbed my hand the whole night and occasionally squeeze it very tight, that moment i knew that she was in an unimaginable pain. 7 am the next day the nurse came checking my wife and told us the opening was on stage 4 and said it was rather slow than average, so they gave her some kind of substance to help fasten the process and injected it to her infusion liquid, this was the start of her silent scream the rest of the process because the substance also level up the pain significantly. 2 pm the same day and the nurse who checked my wife every few moments started to get worried because the opening stops at stage 6 since 10 am, the nurse begin to check the baby heart rate and notice it has some skipped beat, then she rush to call the doctor to take immediate action, i cannot think at that moment and started a little bit panicking. 2.15 pm the doctor came and told us that my wife had to be operated (sectio caesarea) and will be done as soon as possible, he told me the what causes the opening to stop and few other possibilities, then i have to sign some paperwork. 2.30 pm my wife entering the operation room, i waited outside as they don't allow anyone except doctors/surgeons, less than half an hour passed i saw my newborn son was carried out of the operation room and taken to the newborn room, my wife still inside for a few minutes before she came out unconscious due to the anesthesia, i walk alongside the doctor while they escorted my wife back to the room, the doctor told me that the cause of why the opening stage stopped because the umbilical cord was wrappend around his neck and head, and had it been late it could have put my son into a dangerous risk. 4 pm my wife started to wake up and we have a little chat despite she still feels dizzy from the anesthesia, my newborn had to spent the night at he newborn room and don't allow me to go there because he needed an intense care, the rest of the night i still couldn't sleep because i had to accompany my wife and assist her to get things because she still very exhausted from the whole process, we were alone in the hospital, and now that the anesthesia started wear off she begin to feel pain the whole night The next morning my parents came and that was probably when i started to get some sleep after probably more than 48 hours awake. 😂 This whole process makes me appreciate mommies out there more and more than i ever did before, they are so strong and ready to give live to gave birth, kudos to all mommies out there. *Pardon the english, this is my 3rd language

I would imagine the relief that both his wife and child are ok could be his cue that he had done his job protecting them and his nervous system needed a reset. Its got nothing to do with getting queazy. There are a lot of triggers happening. Your wife is in pain, she is screaming, you cant do anything but comfort her, perhaps? Elevated vocal tones, stress amongst the medical team, he pushed his way through all of that. Then he knew all was ok. Happy sounds. Glad voices, relaxed vibes from the team, wife is a mama… ❤

И теперь вопрос! На кой черт вообще тащить мужиков на роды? Дырищу с лезущей из нее головой смотреть?! Самый высокий% разводов в семьях из таких смотрин выходит.

1) Some people cannot handle the sight of blood. 2)People forget to breath when what you are witnessing is breathtaking. Let alone seeing the person you love and live for suffer so much! I get it. Compassion, transparency, integrity and accountability for all!

Agreed, I mean yeah pain and all that is different thing just don't make me look down there I remember when I was a kid my uncle (was a doctor ) showed me a recording of him operating on somebody's intestine an it was disgusting, all that body parts, blood, tools, lights was enough for me to say stop or ill puke, it took me almost 3-4 days just to say food without having a though about it And I've experienced this happened with my own body too when once I fell and got injured, more than the pain it was blood that scared me, I went in panic mode and it made things worse for my parents, doctors got scared too and asked for a CT scan (injury was in my forehead) thankfully it was nothing but just a common injury

I’m a nurse and I did a stint in labour and delivery and it’s amazing the number of men who faint in the delivery room. I remember when I first started working there being so surprised this. Usually we try to just gently lower them to the floor and put a cool cloth on their heads especially if we’re in the middle of delivering the baby. 😂😂

U have a very incredible and extremely noble and miraculous profession! What exactly is it that causes the men to pass out? Is their fainting due to not breathing properly (or at all) due to nervousness and anxiety? Possibly due to not sleeping for long periods of time?
