Oh girl… this boy is a keeper. What he tried to explain is unconditional love. Cheating happens when is a crack in the relationship. You can work on that and carry on. But you can’t find a rare diamond again and what you already built together. Esther’s reaction is the ego (trauma based/fuelled self) talking you are to busy with your self. Your boyfriend raised above that. Well done. You both are very respectable young people. ❤️

It’s easier said than done 😅 But Jun is definitely the rock in the relationship. Very nice lad.

That’s cool and all, but if she’s making him deal with something, she’s got to be “willing” to be able to deal with just as much. No one should be mis treated so don’t take it him being a “rock” to far and think it is what it is…

Jun’s comment on forgiving and staying with Esther even if she cheated demonstrates his love for her is growing deep. Love is forgiveness. Also, he is able to separate person from behavior (especially a single act of wrong doing) and Jun has definitely matured in the relationship. Really enjoyed the podcast. 👍

Yes a single transgression can be forgiven, however if it becomes a pattern, then self respect must take over

yeah, i think he understands that esther has such great character that if she cheats it would probably be a momentary lapse of judgement rather than someone that intentionally seeks it out.

This doesn't seem like a coincidence. I moved to NYC last July to begin working as a middle school art teacher in Brooklyn. I'm listening to Jun share his struggle while I prepare myself for monday with the school... the system... the students... I imagine that there's so much more to it than Jun has shared. I just wanted to say that thanks to his honesty, this subscriber is going to bed with a little more comfort knowing that maybe she's not alone in this.

I really enjoyed the first series of on the floor. I was similarly experiencing a lot of change during that time and was looking for ways to feel community and remain grounded. I would listen to each episode on my way to class or during lunch and it felt like I was listening to an older sister or friend talk. These moments were very special to me and I am really excited for this new series~

This is one of the best get to know each other videos I've seen in a while. Your values align and so everything you talk about goes beyond superficial and it speaks volumes on how you are as partners and as people in general. I love that it feels that you make each other better. Rooting for both of you. :)

I am so glad Jun deep dived into the school system. Fully agree guys - like all systems, corporate or not, it is restricted by politics and funds. I somehow do want to encourage Jun to explore higher positions of power within these systems, but know that politics becomes entrenched at all levels too! You can choose how you want to play the game or not. But I loved and appreciated the way Jun broke down teaching. I used to wanna be a teacher like my mom (elementary/middle art school teacher in Taiwan) but it wasn’t possible for the money here in the states. I actually went toward more stability and financial prospects with design, but I actually think going back to school in the future to learn how to teach would be great. I see what you mean by one instance making your whole teaching career. Super inspiring man, thank you

i’ve always loved seeing you both together in vlogs and doing a podcast together just takes it up a notch. always enjoy listening to both of your thought processes on things and it creates such a personal experience as a viewer. honest conversations reflecting on how nothing really is perfect, some things are just worth nurturing to grow to become better. also really really appreciate you both referring to your beliefs. i feel encouraged when jun talked about the parable of talents and esther trusting that God always knows best, it’s a real mood booster for someone who’s been stuck and burnout. hopefully someday you have a podcast episode talking about beliefs (no pressure tho)! thank you for sharing tons today!!! 🤍🤍🤍

Aw man. Jun is great. I love looking at problems from a systematic view. That passion is going to help you, Jun. You can still reach for bigger changes by grab different skill sets. There are online courses, mentors, volunteer experiences that allow you to push that envelope in advocacy and policy change. Trust me, I started as a bio major too without knowing what i wanted. And Im here grabbing different admin skill sets to slowly start change. Im not where i want to be ultimately but i do believe its possible. Also Jun, what you have working with kiddos from underprivileged populations, that is a skill in itself! We need players like that to create change as a whole. Both direct care, education, admin, politicians, all of them to change an entire system. Thanks for taking the first step to trying to help kiddos become better people :)

Also - dayym this episode just got so much better! On cheating; take your guys’ time to unpack that and chew on it~ I feel old even tho I’m just a few yrs older heh. But Jun’s changing thoughts on hypothetical cheating very much falls into the grey area of love and trust. Circumstances and context matters. Context to the Why and when gives weight to the infidelity. In some instances, this can very much be forgiven. In my own experience, it brought me closer to my partner because after, we had to talk about the issues leading up to it. We had to face the hardships we were going thru. The circumstances (health, emotional burying, distance) created the need to feel desired and seen, which led to infidelity. If you watch Esther perelle she does a good talk about infidelity; but Jun and Esther you guys are extraordinarily bright and inquisitive; keep talking and understanding the boundaries, but also hope that your commitment can bring more understanding EVEN IF things can go haywire in the long long time called life :)

It is wonderful to watch the raw interactions between the two of you discussing your relational experiences. Some topics for future discussions could possibly revolve around the techniques you have developed to overcome the desire to shut down/close up after arguments. Also, to what extent does your shared American/Korean heritage play in both supporting and developing your relationship. Does having a friendship base (which seems to be strictly American/Korean from observation) support your relationship or are their certain constraints associated with it. And seeing you have put out there your Christian faith, as an aside, I am kind of curious (seeing that Jun was a Biology major), how does he reconcile the theological issues associated with such theories as natural selection or evolution. Biologist tend to be more along the atheistic bent due to their association with genetics. As he developed some type of synthesis between science and religion? At any rate, great content.

The part about talking about where your parents said your feelings dont matter....i felt that 🥲 im still trying to unlearn that and so is my partner. Luckily ive gotten to a point where my parter and i arent blowing up with arguments (i think we kind of did that during the point where we were friends), but sometimes that little child still speaks saying "oh it doesnt matter if i say this anyways, no one will listen". Childhood trauma is real yall, sometimes it takes a lifetime to unlearn those behaviors and foster a healthy relationship with someone else
