This song actually got to me. Usually I don't relate to songs, but this song reminds me of my childhood, but the genders switched. My mum was angry at me for liking/dating/kissing girls, and always made me feel worthless, unlike my father, who loved me like a parent should. To anyone else that has had a similar experience, I wish you the best. Remember, you are worth it, you are amazing, and anyone who doesn't appreciate you is being just plain dumb. Have a good rest of your day/night (whatever time it is for you).

Damn! Who is this dude? I first heard this moving song on the radio by Greg Holden & searched for it here on youtube. I saw "kurt sent me here" mentioned in the comments. Greg Holden's performance makes me cry every time I listen but the guy in this video had me sobbing! I'm not even gay! lol! Lovely song, great message. Love & acceptance for everyone!

This was such a beautiful song, it almost made me cry. It has such a strong message in it about gay oppression, and homosexuality being ostracised. I freaking wish that every freaking person who says anything against LGBT rights gets what they deserve. I once told a friend of mine that I wished I could sock people like that in a face. And my friend, being a really good guy and a really good friend said calm down kid because they'll get what they deserve one day. They won't go unpunished. Now every time I come across someone who is an anti-homosexual I feel only pity for them because they don't see that things have changed, they don't understand that it's the twenty first century and things are different. You don't have to be afraid any more. You don't have to feel lonely because you're different. Whatever you are, there's something about you that makes you unique and there'll always be someone who loves you for that. We keep talking about equality, yet hardly any of us know the meaning of that word. So this is for all the bisexuals, homosexuals, transgenders and queers out there. No matter what happens, remember you're not alone. There'll always be someone who loves you. And if you love somebody, what are silly rumours worth?

What a very touching song, it took me years to accept myself after I came out to my family. Half of them disowned me and refused to accept me, the others opened there arms and house as a safe place for me when needed. After that I felt like a disappointment, did I do something wrong, I didn't get to choose this life, it's just how I was made. Now I have my supportive family and a wonderful boyfriend who loves me for me.

I get the full-body chills every time I listen to this song... It's amazing, and the voice singing it is absolutely perfect.

I love this song so much. First of all, it's amazing. Kurt's piano skills and Austin's singing are awesome. Second of all, it's super meaningful. Being gay is hard people don't accept or respect people who are attracted to people of the same gender. Many people say that being homosexual is different and that's a bad thing. Being different from the person next to you is part of life. Every single person is different in some way. People these days just need to willing accept people who are different from them, from homosexuality to race

Both versions are great, each has its unique quality. Austin's voice expresses the pain while Greg's voice expresses the triumph. Each is great. I have both saved to my favorites. Playing them back to back ( something I normally do not do) allows me to feel the full story of this powerful song.
