Right, noticed that by body language from all three during presentation of their Boyz 2 Men STAR with Mike present on stage in 2012. But this interview, confirms all… Sean had serious issues with him, from his response, as if Mikes vocal (bass) wasn’t really needed, didn’t matter far the overall group sound.. irrelevant after recording on all their biggest record album.. would love to get all those record producers (Jamm & Lewis, Baby Face…) true perspectives.. in my opinion the original group member Sean Stockton is the one easiest replaceable in the group and would not be missed, had no uniqueness, vocally but harmonized well… Mike brought a form of stage presence and the superior bass ingredient needed and fans loved to hear.. now the missing ingredient to their hit formula and the others (Sean, Wanya, Nate) know it’s what’s missing to this day, 20 years (2003) after his departure from the bestselling 90’s R&B male group..so why did Mike leave !? But there is an old saying “you health is your wealth” so Mike made right decision… looking at S. Stockton especially going forward 😏💭

Yeah. He is really missed, but whatever went down really only the 4 of them know it and they have really tried to put it to rest and keep going. Yes, is not the same without MIKE but they have managed to do it without him. I just can't believe after all this years, they are not all together. That's what 'they said' however Mike's voice was critical to the original sound. I am the listener. They shaded and abandoned him, so wrong, because he was one of them. Sad how they treated him. A real friend is one who sticks with you to the end.

@@sonyaprince6786 Mike admit on the Iyanla show he went into a deep depression that caused him to be distant from his group mates. They're grown men know I wanna see some hand shakes, Mike may have did wrong in ways but they're not innocent themselves.

Actually I do feel like the tempts did david wrong lol. Otis has a tendency of telling his story how he seen it but maybe wasnt actually how it happened. Now david definitely had his demons but he wasnt the only one in the group that did. And boyz 2 men got greedy. They wanna say oh he left so when he came bk he wanted more money and he didnt deserve it because he didnt go through what we had to go thru during the rough years. Most of what they went through were because of them and getting too cocky and people didnt want to work with them anymore and they thought they could do it all alone. That man is an original member. He should be paid what yall are getting paid. No matter how many years he was away. That's just my opinion but I still respect yours and see where you are coming from whole heartedly

@@liberalview6729 hmmm got ya but what they didn't say (to preserve his image) is that at a point in time he was promoting shows saying Boyz II Men will be appearing/performing when in fact it was him trying to gain money off the brand. Also if you saw the interview on Iyanla he himself said he didn't tell them about his illness - if you think about it him doing that opens the rest of them up to litigation (misrepresentation, breach of contract - because 4 people were slated, not 3) so it kinda makes sense for them to distance themselves from him for a bit until he gets his own affairs sorted

Mike is missed in the sound, but not really the production. Nate would actually write and produce all of Mike's parts. He's really only missed for stage sound, and a capella.

Because there's nothing like a true 4 piece live harmony AND because when Mike was healthy, it made for a better overall show. But as far as studio work, Mike isn't needed as much. The reason for the Boyz ii Men decline was NOT because of Mike's departure. It was because of the rise of white boy bands like 86 Degrees, Nsync, Backstreet Boys, etc. Whether Mike remained in the group or not, Boyz ii men would've suffered the same fate.

Signature? Really? A deep voice that you could barely understand sometimes was the "signature" over Wanya's vocals? That's insane!

@@wrenchworth They were never the same. In an interview, Shawn talked about how Mike leaving was one of the most difficult obstacles they had to overcome. Their sound and appearance changed, their whole aura was switched up! So, yeah. He gave them that signature Boyz II Men sound I fell in love with.

Mike sold himself short really. Not every guy in a group is going to give 100 percent. It's pretty clear that from the beginning Mike was that guy. If you check the credits on their first album, Mike co-wrote / wrote not one song. The other three contributed to writing at least three songs, with Nate writing / co-writing seven. If you cannot glean any sense of the individual ambition and work ethic of the members from that ... then you're just not swift.

I do not think that they said money they said they tried to reach out to him and come to the 20 yr reunion and he did not want to come .

You would know that after 97-99 when the group started declining in tour and record sales...Mike started missing shows...all Anybody knew was he had back problems, which is why he walked with a cane.....he never disclosed that he had M.S until he went on Izyana Fix My Life show. Where he admitted that he kept that a secret from everybody. Including the group AND his own WIFE. An ailment that Walter Williams of The Ojays has by the way and still continues to perform today. When Boyz II Men still had shows he was missing them and nearly got sued TWICE....then they got big tour in Japan he all of a sudden wanted to tour...and THAT'S when they kicked him out in 2003.....they were going through the trenches of trying to rebuild and he wasn't there...then they come up ready for their 20th anniversary...invite him back...abd be starts saying he deserves all of this money when he wasn't even around while the other's kept going...so no brotherhood has no malice...what they said was the truth. Know the back story first!!!

I believe they loved Mike when they first got together they said out there own mouth they all was fighting and had to get used to each other.

but in Michael's Iyanla interview he himself said he didn't tell them of his exact health woes. that's cause for problems because now when promoters book you expecting four and three show up that's cause for litigation. he himself said he withdrew as soon as the health issues started. he was still getting money even while not performing/touring/recording with them... if you're in a group full disclosure is necessary is it not? how should the rest of them feel? if someone started acting "left" towards you without proper explanation and there's a business involved would you not officially distance yourself too? they were fair.

It's cause of the Extra lights that are in the room that we don't see I used to say the same thing, and then I found out why they do it's just to protect there eyes.
