Borderline Personality Disorder and Emotional Sensitivity
Individuals with BPD have a biological predisposition towards high emotional sensitivity. People with BPD experience emotions more intensely than the average person. These feelings are cued by minor stressors that seem insignificant to others. The feelings do not return to baseline quickly, leaving the person vulnerable to another strong emotion before the last one resolves.
