It’s a fighting knife. That’s what category it’s in. Yes fighting knives can be decent woods knives. It’s because it’s probably meant for the more military side of fighting knife design. Aka soldier tasks.

They are giving them to the Ukrainian military. I bought the Adventurer and a small version. For the same price as a mora you're getting a wood handle and a leather sheath instead of plastic . This looks like it would be good for stabbing things. Will be interesting to see how this performs.

Yes BPS knives are really nice. I have the BPS Savage. The steel is High Carbon,. according to Google, High Carbon Steel starts at 1065. Next the sheath, water proof it by using either boiled linseed oil or mineral oil, this will also loosen up the sheath just enough so the blade slides in. Next, remove the handle scales and check for rust. I found a bit on the handle of my Savage, after removing the scales. So sand it off, coat with mineral oil, put scales back on, and Enjoy a truly good knife.

Thing looks like one of those offshore speed boat’s...just needs a big brass prop attached to that rear pommel...lol

I bought the Ukraine Beavercraft Bushcraft version. Gonna play with it this weekend. I will let u know more later. Its sharp for sure.

Yeah a lot of buck knife sheaths are the same way you have to break them in unless you get the nylon

BPS makes some good blades for the price. I have a few. They're decent and inexpensive so if you lose it or break it, it's no biggie. Also make good project knives

Yep, good budget knife as I bought the adventurer because I do not care for a swedge like that but they all seem to come sharp and the leather sheaths are pretty good especially when you take the overall price...Welcome to the BUCK/BPS fan boy club....LOL....Good stuff....

Great blade for the $$, I just received the 5” camping knife. I’m gonna use some of last chance knives home made wax/conditioner on the sheath and wood handle scales.

Have you measured the blade thickness with calipers? The website says 3.1mm but mine is 2.7mm at the thickest spots. Just curious. I feel like 3.1 would be the norm and there is some variation due to being hand made. My other BPS knives are much beefier.
