Armored SUVs are enjoying great popularity. Brabus, a company based in Bottrop, Germany, transforms standard G-Class models into fully armored special protection vehicles. The combination of full armor, made of hot-forged steels, and special glazing gives the colossal car the certificate of protection class VR6, which is mandatory for state limousines, for example. Our documentary presents the impressive vehicle fabrications and shows their special features.

The yellow pen used on the fasteners is not only to show it's been tested. It's also a visual aid to easily inspect the car later on to see if vibration or other forces have twisted the fastner loose so it can fall off. They set a mark on the head of the fastener, then on the structure to where the fastener is anchored. If those do not line up, tightening of the bolt is needed. This way several years down the line a quick visual inspection will tell if thing still is tight or in need of tightening.

Hahahahaha as owner of 3 BMWs and one Audi (all of the cars bought for over 55k€ in the year of 2012 - 2024) i have to laugh🤣 The built material of these cars are a bad joke Mady in Germany WAS a brand and sign of quality. Today it's long gone and everything you non-german people know is the marketing of it. Even here many germans are switching to other non german car brands more and more because they realize that others are as equally good or even better. You only buy a Mercedes, BMW and Audi for prestige or the look of the car not because of superior quality. Trust me on that.

So they don’t wanna keep the OEM badge to have the vehicle remain looking stock… 🧐. I’m sure they fine the engines as well for more power delivery. I know they left that part out to remain a secret but, the added weight would kill the stock performance on a truck that is already heavy to begin with. Great video. To me there are just to many areas where you can get a j hook from a tow truck and it wouldn't go anywhere, there shouldn't be any open spaces in the push bar or roof rack to make it so easy to attach to. The front passenger door is not fully closed at 43:50min. This is a common occurrence during the use of armoured vehicles. I wonder if the vehicle's tech applies to such a crucial nuance and alerts the driver/co-driver. Aside from the risk of compromising the security in such a situation, there is a real risk of damaging door hinges, which, long term, compromises the liquid tightness of the vehicle

Id definitely prefer this over the USA made ones, that most of the time just put on steel sheets and ton of weight, it provides safety to one extent, but not as nearly as this does.

Absolutely. Police/Military etc. would probably get (a cheaper) G-Guard directly from Mercedes. And private individuals who have the money to buy one if these (and feel the need to do so) must have been are doing shady stuff... Guess that's the typical Brabus customer anyway though.

I say this without hesitation, very impressive! However I wonder if a group of people are determined enough to get there target is this all for naught? Would something like depleted uranium rounds be able to penetrate this if attackers were able to block off escape routes?
@thomascrabtree
@thomascrabtree Жыл бұрын
Depleted uranium rounds would penetrate a tank, at which point you're probably better off not leaving your nuclear bunker let alone getting in any kind of vehicle.
@mariemuller838
@mariemuller838 Жыл бұрын
You don't need any fancy uranium rounds to penetrate this it's rated VR 6 that's not even protection against standard .223.

How many people have access to that? Armoured vehicles are built with regards to the level of threat a person has. How many normal people have access to armour piercing bullets?. Only the military has that, and if the military is after you, then its better to just leave the country.
@mariemuller838
@mariemuller838 Жыл бұрын
@@mrtherapy309 A lot of people have access to .223 or stronger calibers. Not just the military. In most country's you can get this stuff easy on the black market. Or if you have legal access to guns you can just buy it without any special permit.

Its basically in the video where they say the shell is not wrapped around the interior but wrapped around the space between chassis and interior panels, means you lose no space.
