I believe he turned down doing this several times. But when they offered to record in Outer Banks, NC, close to his home, he agreed. Andy gave Brad a signed guitar after they finished.

My father passed away last Thursday and we are playing this song at his funeral, this was one of his favorite songs and he always said this was my mother....he was always waiting on a woman. Another one if his songs we are playing is When I get where I'm going. It talks about going to heaven. My dad is now in heaven, waitin on his woman.

Who Needs Pictures ... I was headed to dinner with my son, he said, "Mom, listen to this song." He popped it in the player in his car. It was this song, Brad singing the demo. I said, "I love that! Who is it?" He said, "That's my buddy Brad. We just wrote that song ... we're trying to get him a record deal." And the rest ... is history. 😉🎶

Omg i loved this song back when i always listened. I stepped away from it for awhile and now that im listening again I’m remembering all the older songs like this. Now im 38 and this song hits a bit different as an adult but even more so as a widow. Like wow! My husband is definitely waiting on a bench somewhere for me. ❤

Brad Paisley is one of my favorite to listen to. When I picked up my pickup truck in 2003 the first song I listened to in it was Mud on the Tires by Brad. I don't drive the truck a lot (damn gas prices in CA) but when I do I listen to that song (sometimes) and remember how excited I was driving the first new car/truck I ever had.
