What usually happens at least with me, trying to learn so many things, I revert back to what I usually do and that means go back to my comfortable habits. Usually bad habits. 😮

That's why it's called "practice". You shouldn't be thinking about anything when you're actually competing.

Usually, when 46 things are going wrong, it stems from a single thing you do "wrong" early. Try to figure out the earliest thing wrong in the approach that leads to all the other stuff and work on that 1 early thing

Good video, I struggled with the same problem a couple of weeks ago and spent hours replaying my shots in my mind, worked it out, practiced and got my game back on track at my next league session. Correct on the programming it into memory, there are times I slip back but now I recognise when it happens and I am able to fix it before the rot sets in.

This is all I worked on yesterday night and over 5 games totaled 1,122 pins with a high of 279. Amazing how much more balanced I felt at the line. Great video!

So, I started practicing this swim move, and it speeds up my delivery. I don't have enough revs to hook it from faster. Moved in - ok results. Backed off my foot speed - moved right - ok results. Work in progress.

Tried this today during practice. Felt like I was able to stay under and behind the ball with less effort and swing was easier. Also was slightly more accurate hitting my target. I feel that with additional practice this to will improve.

I have a tendency to "loop" in my backswing. I cannot feel it, so I have my teammate watch. We know each others' game really well. I worked on a few things this year, and I shot my first 800 series at 815. I had quite a few mid to high 700 series prior, but just couldn't eclipse the 800 mark until I perfected my release. Also, I did some research on Kobe Bryant and mental gameplay. Helped a ton. Love you guys' channel. Continue the good work and fight the good fight!

Great video guys! Back in October when I attended your in person bowling clinic, this was one of the things I worked on with Coach Daniel except at the time we used the wooden dowel, keeping it vertical until the "switch" of the downswing. I can most definitely tell when I do this right because my ball just tears it up and is meh when I don't. It does take a lot of work to master this. It will be my focus this summer.

👍 #600 for this segment - good one Brad! Body position from dots to foul line is what I work on in practice. It is very important and it shows when I haven't practiced enough before league or tournament I also go to the gym so I can have a better transfer of power to the ball without "forcing" the shot and throwing my body position out of whack. Good stuff. Great guest!

I've been practicing my arm swing like this just recently and i've noticed how much of a difference it's made in my game. I just now have to work on turning my hand too early on my release 😅
@405adam
@405adam Ай бұрын
Could be a late release issue. I had that problem. If my release got out to far in front of me I would roll my hand over the ball. I didn’t realize your hand naturally turn’s when you reach out. I simply started my release earlier more near my ankle and it made a world of difference in speed and revolutions. It forces you to stay behind the ball

Great video. I was working on this with the arm weight just this morning. I was not near as effective at making the change. I grew up bowling being taught to keep shoulders parallel to the foul line. It is a hard habit to break. I have noticed that when I get a little bit more open with my shoulders I have some difficulty hitting my target, mostly missing to the right. I’m assuming as I progress with this that my aim will improve as well. Looking forward to more instructional videos like this one. Thanks!

I'm curious. Is it even possible to put more speed into the ball if you are using the yo-yo/low down effect? I’ve noticed my average speed goes down from 16 mph to 13 a lot when I use that. It could be a normal amount due to the nature of the hook itself.

Does it matter if the thumb is pointing up or down on the balance arm? I was taught to point the thumb down when sending it out and horizontal or up when going straight up the boards? Or, should it be the opposite of what the ball hand is doing? Can someone clear this up for me?
