I have a feeling that there are good and bad areas wherever you go. I lived in San Francisco in the 90s and had a great time. I just did not go to the bad areas. I mainly went out in the day but I could have gone to nort beach Chinatown or haight ashberry at night and been ok. California was nice when I was there. Maybe it changed but I went all over California and had a great time. I met a lot of nice people and drank beer on the beach. We bonfires on the beach. I met surfers.

Did it just get bad there? I lived in Bradenton 2 years ago and it was super safe and nice. I didnt see anything bad, nor did i when i went south into sarasota. Bradenton is a suburb so i dont see how its bad
