Bradford Asks For a Fight! | The Rookie

4 жыл бұрынUpset with his drug-addict wife, Bradford goes on the hunt for some crime to let off some steam. He approaches a group of bikers, who in order to increase their reputation within the gang must commit felonies. Bradford's actions worry Chen, who later confides in Nolan about them.
From Season 1 Episode 3 "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly": Nolan and Bishop chase a group of thieves for a bag of money, but Nolan loses it again when a street performer runs off with it. Meanwhile, Chen helps Bradford adjust to being back on duty after being shot, but also witnesses complications between him and his drug-addict wife, who reveals to Chen that she use to be a cop.

Funny thing is Bradford turned into an awesome character afterwards. Tough as nails cop but he lightens up later on and ends up seeing Chen as a formidable Rookie.

He's also examining his own actions in previous seasons as he reckons with racism within the department. The Rookie is now full throatily saying what it was only whispering at the start.

As someone who argues head cannon a lot for others shows, taking this to be anything close to what could really happen is the mistake. If the show were to bring in the cams (and I don't remember if they do in this episode) then go with the excuse as it would be canon, but if not, making up your own head canon makes it a more immersive show than just calling something bad writing or being outraged in some way.

The Arkham Cycle it’s hard to see but if you look really close after the fight you can see the white shirt, the black is just his vest.

Not all departments carry body cams, LAPD does not sure why bradford had his off his body. And technically he didn't start the fight, so he was in the right + dash cam did in fact catch it all

Not even remotely coercion. He wasn't forcing the bikers to do anything... In fact he didn't really offer them anything except the potential to commit a crime (assaulting a police officer) without getting charged. Coercion requires that you force someone to commit a crime against their nature... Offering literally the crime itself as a reward for committing it is the furthest thing from coercion, it practically proves the crime is within their nature.
