The original Neverending Story still holds up, Lex, dated effects or not. You should absolutely rewatch it as an adult - you might actually get even more emotional as you pick up the context and meaning a child simply doesn't have the life experience to. Maybe not with Brad in the same room, though. :)

Lex seriously, anything reminding me of this movie makes me so emotional, too. Most significantly, the original Falkor (the "dogdragonthingy") is in my hometown Munich. When I first saw him live as a kid I felt like meeting a best friend. You're even allowed to "fly" on his back. When I saw him again as a grown up, I just cried. I don't know what it is about this movie, but it's pure emotion! 💜

I am older than you guys but the second that it triggered in Lex that it was from one of her favorite movies I literally said "Yes! You do remember it too!". It was a story about a kid who wanted to escape from his everyday life and did that while reading his book "The Never Ending Story". At times in the movie it would flash back to him reading it and yelling at the characters, but they start reading more. I believe that JIm Henson helped create the puppet characters for this movie since he was the master of the hit TV show Sesame Street. Yes Lex, I think all kids from that time fell in love with that movie and your emotions listening to this said it all for all of us watching your reaction. FYI there was a Never Ending Story 2 also.

Lex: I was the guy last night who was bingeing on Brad/Lex vids and commented on livestream how happy I was to see you doing Never Ending Story because of how cute the song is. I hadn't yet seen this reaction, so I had no idea you had such an emotional reaction to it. It's a special song for tons of us 80's kids. *Some advice to help with your YT project* ... latch on to the trend that's now happening of "re-reactions" to songs, but watch the *music videos* the second time around (and make sure they're pre-approved by us, so you're watching the right ones, or just make sure they're on the official artist's channel). This song has a music video that would've reminded you more of the movie, AND, there is an extended version of the song (by only ten seconds or so) so you get to hear the whole song; in this short version they edit out an absolutely wonderful female vocal part, and it's a crime, because it's a beautiful part. Love you guys, cheers!! Edit P.S. You can blur the videos just enough that we can see what you're watching without triggering the censors, or put an overlap image on. 80's music often isn't the same without the video component, that's what we grew up on. Cheers!

Yeah i agree about 80s music needing the video. The video was as much or more important than the song. Artists hated it because they had to do two jobs instead of one for the same audience, MTV went from concert footage and promo videos to full blown productions like mini movies. No one waited to hear new songs on the radio, we waited for new videos. There's lots of things, shrinking them, framing them, overlaying them , transparent, etc.

I'll "third" the video part, it was an essential part of the 80's music scene. Hopefully they'll go back and re-do a bunch of reactions, and to the videos instead. Will give them a whole new perspective.

Your reaction is priceless. I'm i my 40s, and i used to watch this way back in the day when i was a little kid, i loved this movie so much. I must have watched it a hundred times as a kid and got lost in the world all the time. I wasn't much of an out doors popular kid, so i related to this movie so much. I love the Dragon and this song i loved so much but there was no such thing as an internet and i was a child so i didn;t even think to find this song or where you could find it, the world was different back then so this song only existed in this movie to me. Fast forward years and the age of the internet, many years ago i searched for this song and found it!, i was elated and over joyed, my heart sank, no one understood why, but it's the way i grew up, very quiet and in my own fantasy. Even today i still have a heart of a young child, Im still a bit of a loner, and i still love the same fantasies, now though i have shared these memories with my son :).

The film was the first in The NeverEnding Story film series. 3 in total. A 1984 English-language West German-American fantasy film co-written and directed by Wolfgang Petersen (in his first English-language film), and based on the 1979 novel The Neverending Story by Michael Ende. The film score of The NeverEnding Story was composed by Klaus Doldinger of the German jazz group Passport. The theme song of the English version of the film was composed by Giorgio Moroder, with lyrics by Keith Forsey, and performed by Christopher "Limahl" Hamill, once the lead singer of Kajagoogoo, and Beth Anderson. "Limahl" is an anagram of Hamill.

@@wendydotson8891 I can dig that. My problem was with continuity. I don't mind different characters within the same universe but the sequels didn't feel like the same world if that makes sense. Kind of how the second wizard of oz was compared to the first...if I seen just that I wouldn't mind but I already got spoiled on the first 😆

A lot of people know this from Stranger Things but I knew it from the original movie which at the time every kid my age loved. My mom took me to see it in the theaters with movies like Karate Kid,Gremlins, Star Wars movies, Clash of the Titans, and the Goonies (all in 1983-1985).

I totally understand Lexi. I used to love this song, and hearing brought me back to a time of child innocence, where things were simpler, where the only monsters were in the movies or in books... I didn't cry, but i had a giant smile on my face the all time and my mind was on nostalgic mode......

I hear you Lex, best kids movie ever made!!!! As an adult, I still watch it periodically. I still appreciate how creative it is. The story, the effects, the music, very well made. I can't help but laugh whenever I see the princess either. As an adult, she is so adorable, as a kid, I had the biggest crush on her and remembering that makes me laugh. Ahhh, young love, lol.

This is a Childhood Nostalgic Song! I seen the Movie when My Aunt took me and my younger Sister at about the age of 11 or 12. The song is connected to the Movie and the Movie to my Childhood experience. Thus it does yes even STILL touch me somewhat. But on its own??? I'd consider it as Completely forgettable! I'm sure the only reason your even reacting to it on your channel is because of some one else's Childhood Nostalgia!!!
