Lot of haters on these comments. God forbid someone wants to talk about their film, ESPECIALLY when guys like Alfonso Cuarón, Spike Lee, and Steven Spielberg are interested. He literally has some of the best filmmakers of all time giving him his flowers.

Right, and what a treat it must be for these folks in the audience who just got to see the movie, to listen to Spielberg or Alfonso. Granted, yes he's heavy promoting his film, but it's tasteful and not 'desperate campaigning' like some seem to think

Cooper has spent the last 5-6 years prepping and making this movie. What’s he suppose to do? Talk about it once and then shut up? I’d be waving my flag screaming from the hilltops to anyone that listened if I were in his shoes

This film is a Masterpiece. This deserves Oscar nominations. 2 Oscars for Bradley (actor/director) Oscar for Carey Mulligan Oscar for best movie at least. But Cinematography and Custom Design and Production Design it's also amazing.

Its honestly a little closer to Citizen Kane (i don't even mean it as a meme or diss to The Irishman) with the prosthetics, lead/director combo, and amazing filmmaking (which both have of course but one is half b&w and different aspect ratios)

Scorsese isn’t interested in running around promoting as much as cooper is would be one reason. Scorsese does the rounds sure but he, like most, and especially in his position, has a limit but it’s pretty clear Cooper has no problem doing as many of these things as possible… and it makes sense the guys young (as far as being a director is concerned), passionate about the film and hungry to have it be seen and hungry for the acclaim that comes with being in the running for those awards. I’d say it appears he wants it more than Netflix does otherwise he’d have been content just doing half of the promotional shit he’s done thus far.
@Bee000
@Bee000 4 ай бұрын
@@RBGRBGRBGRBG All the promo is contactual. They invested in his film, he has to promote it. It's beneficial to everyone. Scorsese already has a bunch of Oscars, he is older and more senior in the game. He doesn't need to campaign so hard. I'm also convinced, Bradley, would be interested in any long/short term term deal, Netflix, could offer if he gives them another Oscar (which is always a huge achievement for a streaming service). Both Bradley and Netflix are doubling their effort to win and I don't think it's a bad thing. You have to go after what you want. May the best win, at this point.

@@Bee000 yea, and he wrote, directed, produced and acted in the film. I’m pretty sure he had some say in the decision when he sat down with Spielberg (who was the big producer on the film) or whoever else at the studio when they wrote that contract. Of course, it’s always contractual, but the degree to which it’s done, and how much promotion he would have to do, especially in cases like this (where Cooper clearly has a degree of control and is already a bankable star with plenty of weight to throw around in those rooms) makes me think that he was probably a big part of the decision to promote it *to the degree* that he is.

"Maestro" has SO much talent involved. It's not a dull film at all, but it's tragically lacking a coherent point. I wish it had been the masterpiece that "important" Hollywood people seem to think it is, but the script is flawed. Those of us who already love Leonard Bernstein's music and personality will probably be confused by its focus on Felicia (Carey). Omitting "West Side Story" origins and how it changed Broadway was a missed opportunity.

The acting is excellent. The story is important. It's too bad the Tobacco lobby bought and paid for this film as an advertisement for smoking cigarettes. Shame on you for selling out to big Tobacco and compromising your creative genius while reducing a good story to a cheap advertisement for smoking and lung cancer.

What about the elephant in the living room? Bernstein purposely made composers, other than him, sound bad. The press made him a CLASSICAL SACRED COW. No matter what he did on stage, they called it "the greatest." In the 1980's, he conducted all 9 of Beethoven's symphonies on TV. He used multiple methods rigging the sound of the orchestra (even adding trumpets), creating a horrible sound. Between performances he was asked about Beethoven's ability to orchestrate, he says, " IT'S BAD! HE HAS THE TRUMPETS STICKING OUT AND THEY'RE DROWNING OUT EVERYBODY ELCE." My KZfaq video titled, THE REAL MAESTRO, documents his vandalism and brainwashing stunts on television.
