Bradley Wiggins go Broke instead Chris Froome continues to make a fool of himself in every race he enters. His aspirations for the Tour de France 2024 are nothing short of hilarious, but he continues to compete after 5 years without good results. His one time teammate and rival, Bradley Wiggins, from his absolute poverty of being broke, shows us why Froomey continues to race despite his pathetic level.

Cycling and all major sports need a superstar. Out of 150 top riders, you cant naturally have a man that is always winning. You need a tour star juiced and too big to fall, with a blind eye turned. See the Lance story, and how pro cycling is not of public interest anymore.

I remember meeting Wiggins at the hotel in Shell Beach, California while he was in Yellow in the 2014 Tour of California. I thought since I was English and had my Union Jack on my shoulders like a superman cape he would be a decent guy but he was an absolute d1ck. He did take a pic with me but wasn't happy about it. The next time I saw him was 2016 at Tour Of California with his new Team Wiggins and he was drinking a coffee sitting on the bonnet of a team car and asked him for a pic and he wqs rude as hell. Sometimes meeting famous people you admire is not what you think it will be Of course I've since come to accept that Team Sky was "110% clean" and my whole perception on these riders has changed but at this time I was just happy to meet riders that would eventually go on to win their classifications at the TDF like Pogi, Bernal, Cav, Wiggo (had already won TDF) and others like Aliphileppe 🤘🏻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

It never made sense why Wiggins left Vaughters after he got 4th place at the Tour. He had to that point been pretty anonymous. His explanation was he needed to make the jump to the "Manchester United level" or something to that effect. However, Team Sky was not anything special at this point. He then of course won the Tour and then became buddies with Johan Brunyeel and Lance and it became clear what this guy's orientation was. The chart at 0:20 was pretty revealing. It is highly improbable that Chris Froome won 4 Tours legitimately. He is riding now at the same level he was before his Team Sky days.

Pro athletes are genetically gifted (larger hearts, breathing capacities, metabolic capabilities and fast-adapting muscle types even before they started training) and that makes a huge difference from the rest of us. I have worked with two pro endurance athletes. I hate the idea and practice of doping because it is cheating and can be harmful to athletes who are not medical doctors or experts on the junk they might take into their bodies.

British taxpayers and the National Lottery effectively funded Team Sky by paying for everyone and everything on the elite side of British Cycling (who run our Olympic Team, national championships etc). Said ‘everyone and everything’ also being assets of Team Sky. Staff (and riders) literally had two job titles: their British Cycling job title and their Team Sky job title, while really only doing one job. There was no separation of roles and equipment - down to the point where the same (infamous) laptops were used for both roles / organisations. It was an incredible deal for Rupert Murdoch, as he got all the advertising while other people paid.who must have been waiting to have his collar felt (but it never happened). Though it was a scandal waiting to be exposed, nothing was going to happen while British riders were doing so well under both banners. But once testosterone was discovered, it was only a matter of time before Murdoch decided to jump before he was pushed.

Most lower skill high physicality sports 100%. Including all track and field swimming and other endurance or strength sports. I'm not saying those are low skill sports at all just that the physicality plays a significant part too. And as a technically masterful athlete you couldn't compete without being top of the line physically. I don't know if the best table tennis (a sport that I also love besides cycling) players in the world are dopers. They might be but it wouldn't surprise if they are clean. You generally don't really win a table tennis match because you have stronger muscles can sprint faster or have more stamina. You need a decent level of those but that is very attainable. Or darts professionals, half of them are obese.
