I was also fascinated at how they use all sorts of weird chords instead of powerchords. and they also have an interesting way of making leads and harmonies. really good stuff. for bodom I love all their catalogue despite the fact that some people say the last ones were kinda eh. I love Alexi's riffage and soloing. RIP Legend.

I love all of Opeth's discography but I think Still Life - Ghost Reveries was definitely their peak, especially creatively. That being said, Watershed, Pale Communion, In Cauda Venenum are my favorite later Opeth albums (in that order). @@ihsan_lol

Necrophagist have many underrated great riffs - the delayed riff before (and after) the solo of Culinary Hyperversity, the riff after the solo of Ignominious and Pale (underneath the harmonies), the end riff of Diminished to B (easiest Necro riff, still cool), Epitaph's riff before the solo (so sluggish) to name a few.

YES! Those and FOD are probably my favorites, but, in my opinion they don't have "bad" riffs/solos. Had the pleasure of seeing them live twice...it was almost hard to mosh at times because everyone was so busy ogling the musicianship in amazement! During the solos, it was like a group of well behaved music connoisseurs watching legitimate musical virtuosity...then right back into the circle pit lol.

Here is my criminally underrated riff from a band that a lot of metalheads probably never heard the band is Cadaveryne, the album is Fathering the Apocalypse and the name of the song is Seven, once you hear the main riff you'll never forget it for the rest of yout metalhead life, it's just so uniquely wicked!

Definitely happy seeing Anesthetize on here, my friend is a huge Porcupine Tree fan and that one is one of his favourite songs from them and I love that riff as well. Additionally some other riffs I’d like to include are Kurenai and IV by X Japan, I’m not sure how popular they are outside of Japan but I love those guys and those riffs definitely go hard and it’s fucking awesome

One of my all time favorite riffs is from Hatespheres-Reaper of life. The riff that plays a few times through the song and during the end when it fades out. It is so simple and heavy it sounds like you can saw right through a tree

Cradle Robber by Revocation, Out from Below by Sylosis and A.I.R. by Anthrax are all underrated favorites of mine. Love the Sylosis riff you played earlier, they need more love

The main riff in sabaton's "Ett slag färgat rött" or in english "killing ground" it's both very powermetal-y and ironmaiden nwobhm style gallop thing either way, great (concept) album about swedish kings

Nice video! I feel like one of the Children of bodom's most underrated riffs is the awesome riff in Deathnight warrior at 2:00-2:20 of the song, my favorite COB riff of all time. Also a band called Torchia has a song called Fury. It has an awesome main riff and an amazing guitar solo. It's a shame that the band is really unknown.
