This changed my life. I used to scrub my hair like my life depended on it, dry it incredibly aggressively, buy the cheapest shampoo, not use any aftercare, and literally do the opposite of everything Brad said to do... My hair was destroyed. But when I started to follow Brad's tips my hair quality instantly improved and I could tell it's healthy. Thanks so much for this, you saved my hair.

This was life changing. I literally destroyed my thin hair with bad routines and dyes. I abused the amount of shampoo and felt like sculpting foamy creations with my hair in the shower... Nowadays I only gently wash the scalp and is growing shinier and healthier. Thank you so much!

Brad, seriously, I really didn’t know how to do this the right way. I have very thick hair and I was getting an itchy scalp, and had a feeling that I was using too much shampoo. It’s difficult to get all of that product rinsed out. After using your tips, my scalp and hair are so much more comfortable every day (while I only wash about 2 times a week). Thank you so much!
@shrimpygirll

I would also if you want a natural oil to add to your shampoo is tea tree oil. It will help with itching of the scalp and products to promote less dry scalp. as in washing your scalp only with a all natural shampoo for dry itchy scalp. Worked for my itchy scalp. Plus less washing of hair per week.

Hi Brad, I am new to your channel and came across this video when I was having issues with what I believed to be product build up. I felt that I had tried everything under the sun product wise, but nothing would help until I watched this video. I followed every single step that you talk about and now I am on day two with no product build up and no grease and my hair is lovely and clean and back to normal. I also watched your *Hard Water* video and did get a filtering shower head, but this video is the one that has saved my hair. I am still learning and am currently going through your videos to teach myself on how I can keep my hair nice and healthy and looking great. I'm not sure if you will see this but I just wanted to say thank you

Ok… I’ve gotten SO many compliments on my hair (color) when going to hairdressers (“is this your natural color?” - “wow, your natural hair color is SO pretty!”) - I tell about half of them I’ve been using a $6 bottle of Sun In for about 25 years. That’s quickly followed by, “OMG! That’s SO bad for your hair!” (…post-compliment…) SO, I’m taking the plunge & will spend a small fortune (comparatively!) on a professional color/highlight. Scared, but fingers crossed…! 🥺😬

Hiya Brad! I doubt you'll ever see this with this video being like 2 years old, but I just wanted to let you know that I'm trying this technique out! My hair gets super oily every other day like clockwork. I just started today, and I used a little bit more than two dimes since my hair is long and it's used to using a lot more shampoo (sorry!). I know it'll take a while to see results, but I'm super excited, because I adore your channel and can't wait to do crazy stuff to my hair some day! But for now, I'm glad I can at least partake in this. Here's to hopin'! 💚Dube

Okay, I know this video is almost 3 years old, but it legit helped me so much. I kept having problems with feeling like my hair is so oily and greasy and I didn't understand why. Then after watching this, I realized I was using WAY too much shampoo & conditioner and that I've been applying shampoo the wrong way my whole life because no one ever talks about how they wash their hair! Last night, I followed these instructions and my hair feels clean, non-greasy, and non-oily for the first time in months. Thank you so much Brad!

Re: oily hair & skin. My hair used to be really oily. Very annoying. When I was younger I used to have really hot showers, even wash my hair in that. I now wash in body temp water. Now like 25-50 years later using body temp the hair is normal. No oily hair or oily skin. No moisturiser either. When washing I just massage scalp from edge to centre. NO rubbing ends of hair. Just use wide tooth wet hair comb work from ends if knotty. Rinse shampoo out. Squeeze excess water using hands not towel, add conditioner leave in required time and rinse. NO TOWEL HAIR at any process. My hair is very fine plus in 60's so can be brittle. Slight trim monthly Keeps knotts away. I have cut my own hair for years using pony tail method.

Same I have a €7 natural shampoo. So it has quality and won't strip all the natural oils. It even has packaging with recycled plastic. And I usually buy it when there's a 1+1 sale. I don't live in the US though. I don't know if shampoo is more expensive there. It's probably just in bigger amounts and that's why it seams more expensive without seeing the actual product.

Still Fangirling about Draco Malfoy A lifesaver for me is using a hair mask/deep conditioner once a week. It's basically an extra thick and creamy conditioner that infuses your hair with vitamins/essential oils/natural ingredients. It was a night and day difference for me. My favorite is Heaven in Hair from Devacurl, but a great inexpensive starter is the one minute mask by Garnier Fructis(link below). Apply to clean wet hair and leave in for 15-20 minutes. Bonus points for using a blow dryer on your hair for 30-60 seconds to open your hair cuticle up to receive even more moisture. By the end of the month you'll see a huge difference in your hair. Hope this helps!! www.walmart.com/ip/Garnier-Fructis-1-Minute-Hair-Mask-with-Avocado-13-5-fl-oz/414335958?wmlspartner=wlpa&selectedSellerId=0&wl13=172&adid=22222222228128405310&wl0=&wl1=g&wl2=m&wl3=235173810697&wl4=aud-430887228898:pla-388651893318&wl5=9022854&wl6=&wl7=&wl8=&wl9=pla&wl10=8175035&wl11=local&wl12=414335958&veh=sem&gclid=CjwKCAiAjrXxBRAPEiwAiM3DQqQPUizICX-wpXiz6BIEMAkBdMDXVGXkCyo_n2zC0CZZXVowNFearBoCbr4QAvD_BwE

Still Fangirling about Draco Malfoy I have natural thin hair too (as everyone in my family my poor future kid) What helped me a lot was that I stopped using shampooing and conditioning. My hair would always get overwhelmed by conditioners (since they are aggressivelly trying to force nutritions in your hair so my hair would break because it has neither the space for the nutritions nor the strength to go through that several times) I use a vinegar water mix to rinse my hair of once a week and my hair made such an improvement. If you want to use conditioners make sure they are mild and for fine and thin hair. Not that hair related: I started using mild hair soap because it way for sensitive so my scalp doesn’t produce that much oil anymore. I went from basically feeling like I have to wash my hair the same day in the evening to washing it every three days with these two changes. And it is healthier than it ever was.

So I look up studies in my spare time for fun and have done so for a couple decades. Suds do not cleanse the hair. That is true without question. They do however facilitate the cleansers spread on the scalp and between hairs. This allows the cleansers to do their job swifter as it allows it to spread without you having to physically get 100% manual coverage
@NoNames-vw3bq

I have long, straight hair and have always washed the full length of hair and used a large amount of shampoo and conditioner for it, but the times I've put my hair in tiny braids and, recently, installing a full head of synthetic dreads has really shown me how little shampoo and conditioner I actually need. Over the years, I've gone from washing my hair every three days to once a week, and I haven't had any problems with frayed ends in years. Two months ago I installed the dreads and went from once a week to washing them twice a month (continually wore them for those washes and then took them out after two months of wear to clean) and I was absolutely amazed at how soft, shiny and healthy my hair felt when everything was brushed out, fully washed and treated with a few drops of oil (something I never did before) after the fact. I had fully expected dandruff problems/oily buildups and destroyed ends, but that wasn't the case. The amount of dandruff was actually really negligible and could be removed by the biweekly wash or a gentle scalp massage once in a while. I've never felt more confident and beautiful than when I had my hair in dreads, so I will definitely reinsert them as soon as I give them a proper wash too. Without the dreads, I'll also try to work towards a biweekly hairwash routine, try to get used to only washing the scalp and see how it suits me. Just amazed (but not surprised) how the shampoo industry has made this process out to be this high maintenance, product-intensive job when those products are actually exactly what used to destroy my hair when I was younger.

And my hair was always healthy, the itch would be there but since i became natural and i came to the US i started my natural hair journey and it grew healthy but right now am seeing a total reverse of what my hair used to be.. i can see scalp slow growth i wash once a week😬 coz now i cannot stand the itchiness and lost alot of my hair and baby hairs.. am rethinking of doing what used to work in my young teenage years, maybe am striping of the natural nutrients from my scalp and having tupe 4 hair is not easy to get oils soak in curly hair and get into the cuticles and shaft of your hair.

I don't think you should go by the price, I think you should just look up the ingredients. That (in)famous MLM shampoo is like 40 $ and it has an ingredient that causes nail polish to become hard, there are some shampoos that don't have literally anything else in them other than SLS, silicones and fragrance regardless of the price. So yeah, as long as the ingredients are ok you can buy a shampoo in whatever price range you are willing to pay.

I was training my scalp to be washed every 3rd day. I got really bad dandruff out of nowhere. Really itchy scalp. Little red painful bumps. I have never had dandruff in my life! Did every other day for one week and then noticed my hair was falling out!!!! 😨😱 I have yet to see the dermatologist. My doctor is reluctant to refer me since he says my hair and scalp looks very healthy and I have too much hair 😆 After 3 months of adding more fats into my already healthy diet and continuing my twice a week washing, I see baby hairs coming finally. Have lost more than half of my hair and still shedding like crazy. No clue what to do. I hope the dermatologist can help. I'm far too young for natural age thinning my hair. My long thick wavy has always been my focal point and life sucks without it 🥺 I hope adding the little bits of new stuff I learned here will help as well. Thank you for this video. Really enjoyed it 😊

I would love to see a series where you “prescribe” someone with a hair care routine with products suited to them and show the results at checkpoints like a day, a week, a month and then an overall before and after! Some examples would be someone with thin, oily, bleached hair Or something with thick, curly, colour treated hair I’d particularly like to see my hair type which is oily, fine, bleached, naturally wavy with hardly any volume at the root. I’ve never been able to tame my waves so they aren’t frizzy and kinky.

And I am a male but I use female soap cuz it smells nice and you can’t judge me because it’s my preference and people aren’t smelling me while I’m sitting on my couch >:3

I got in a habit of not washing my hair every day out of depression and my adhd making it hard to manage the time i have to get ready to work. I noticed my hair is a lot healthier since i have stopped worrying about if someone is going to notice if my hair is dirty. I iust wash my body for five minutes and my face and then I’m able to get to work on time. I do all the washing and conditioning on my days off. Maybe once or twice a week now. I love this new routine

Old school here... have basically your typical old fashioned short back and sides, long on top, wavy hair... generally wash every 2 - 3 days, and when it's freshly washed, a gentle towel dry so it is left just a little damp, and a dab of brylcreem - basically grandad's leave in conditioner lol. Keeps the waves neat and uniform yet still natural looking, not like plastered to my head or anything. Enjoy your videos Mr. Mondo!

Hair fall control tips that have been effective for me: • Use mild shampoo only on your hair like liitlexteral coocoonion shampoo. • Begin with a pre-rinse using a hair rinse green tea hair rinse. • Separate the hair in sections and cleanse in sections: beginning with the scalp, followed by the middle, and lastly the length. • Lather your shampoo well a lot and scrub with your fingers the shampoo into your hair and do the same while rinsing out. • Apply warm Cocoonioooon oil and massage it into the scalp and tie hair in a protective hairstyle.

Ive always struggled with the "only condition ends" advice. I usually condition ends and then at the end of my "3 minutes" will put conditioner on the top of my head and rinse it through or pile my conditioned hair up on top of my head and rinse it out. We hear all the time to moisturize our face because constant washing without putting the moisture back on, our face will over produce sebum and oil to balance it out... But ... When it comes to our scalp, we just... wash it?... Then complain when its oily 2 days later?

Here’s my notes: 1) Water temperature - warm 2) How hard should you scrub? - Gently, otherwise you’re gonna damage your hair 3) What do suds do? - Nothing 4) Which parts of your head should yoh wash? - scalp only 5) How much shampoo should you use? - 2 dime size amounts, one for the back of the head & sides and one for the top 6) How often should you wash your hair? - No correct answer, because it’s dependable 7) How long should you keep the conditioner on? - Well, a few minutes should be just fine for nice hydration, but if you want more hair care - better go for a hair mask 8) Don’t put your hair up after shower - when it’s warm, it’s the most fragile, and you’re risking getting partially bald 8) Do some research, read about your type of hair, and start using some products fitting for it - for example oils for dry hair, etc. Washing your hair properly is important, but aftercare is too. 9) Don’t buy cheap shampoos:) They might be bad for your hair. Buy quality products, it’s worth it.
