This is one of Chick Corea's most well-known tunes, a song played by probably every high school and university jazz band. Gary is channeling the Al Jarreau vocal version, putting his own unique spin on it. Great performance.

FINALLY!!! Been waiting for this. Stank face all day, every day and I love it. This was such an amazing performance. LIVE. SITTING DOWN. ANIMATED AND AMAZING. I never get tired of hearing this. The melody is by jazz pianist Chick Corea, inspired by Concierto de Aranjuez for guitar by Spanish composer, Joaquin Rodrigo. The words were added later by Al Jarreau and Artie Maren. Gary's version is a tribute to Jarreau's.

Note: Gary V is a Filipino singer veteran and a hero to the Filipino culture, very well respected and VERY FAMOUS. You will not see him doing chores unless he’s spending time with his family. You just discovered a Filipino gem 🙏🏼❤️

That's why in the Philippine entertainment and music industry, Gary Valenciano is given the moniker "Mr. Pure Energy". You should see his concert videos. He's got lots of energy on stage, singing wise as well as dance wise 🙂

I was laughing the whole time, so funny watching you dance with the melody. Fyi, Gary V. (That’s how he was called) is one of the best singers in the Philippines during his time and until now. I was able to watch his live concerts many times and believe me, you will never regret it. Worth every single penny. By the way, One of the best reactions I ever watched from your channel.

Can you believe he's in his mid-50's? He's arguably the biggest male pop singer in the Philippines, starting in the 80s. He's also the closest the Philippines has to a Michael Jackson figure (maybe you should check out his old school concert performances so you could see him do his thing with dance moves to boot. =).

You know Gary even spoke of his adoration for Al at one of his concerts in NY. He did this same song with my favorite female artist right now, a still young at the time Katrina Velarde if you interested in singing another take on this. I get you regarding the legend that is Al Jarreau. The concert at that LA amphitheater is legendary, spectacular, and any other adjective you can come up with 💥🌋🤯

You were obviously stunned haha! You'd be more surprised to find out that Gary is nearing 60 yo 😯, and still has all that energy. A great follow up to this is his other Wish Bus performance of "I will be there / Warrior is a Child" mash up, it is mellower than this but is more uplifting and inspirational.
