+Ann Worley How did they find out you had a brain aneurysm? What kind of tests did they do?

Well it actually ruptured at home and a week prior to that I was having headaches and just taking over the counter medicine for it . I had never been tested for an aneurysm before that, but they did a ct scan, an mri and angiography . I have to get that done every 6 months to make sure I don't have any more aneurysms and that the one they clipped is still ok. It's best to get a ct scan or mri done, just to make sure everything is OK it's a scary situation and so please get checked if you haven't already.

@Carol Ladre'ssa mine was dizziness followed by extremely severe headache extending to upper jaw and roots of upper teeth. Pain did not respond to painkillers, lasted 15 hours. At 15 hours, a 625 mg dose of aspirin, I found on the kitchen table was taken. The extreme pain stopped in 10 minutes. God and aspirin saved my life. It is still unknown whether it was an aneurysm or stroke. Was left permanently weakened and nearly lame. Getting to the hospital or calling 911 or neighbors was impossible.

That's a scary story! Sounds like it was a stroke since you have permanent symptoms but i'm no doctor. Sorry it permanently affected you. I guess barely anybody makes it through life without some bad situations. I've had sharp pains in my brain a handful of times that i didn't know what it was. They usually happened when i moved quick or erratically. It was a very sharp pain and a couple times i felt fluid move. I think i am pushing my luck way too much. I just had a really big pain jolt me. Always in the same spot. Like getting smacked with a cast iron skillet. It's scary that it's in my brain and I can't do anything about it. To make things worse, i currently drink wine every night so my blood pressure can't be very good. Definitely calling theVA tomorrow and praying tonight. I poured a glass of wine but haven't touched it yet.

I had a large brain aneurysm almost 5 years ago. My headaches, over time, had been diagnosed as migraines and drs would give me painkillers before sending me on my way. After changing doctors, I was diagnosed with high blood pressure but it was later discovered, after my BP shot up to 183/110, that something else was wrong. A CT scan showed something wrong and an MRI revealed the aneurysm. After my surgery, the neurosurgeon told my husband that I was within 24-48 hours of losing my life. Thankfully it was discovered in time and I have made an almost-full recovery.

@@jamesmichaelrollon8240 I have occasional headaches but nothing that I have to really worry about - but I do worry about them. I survived a brain aneurysm in October 2022. My symptoms were a visual disturbance, a bit like looking through a kaleidoscope and a slight imbalance. Prior to this, I’d suffered several headaches over the previous year that felt like a hangover headache, despite not drinking. I’m back to full health now thankfully, all thanks to the Walton Neuro Centre, in Liverpool, England.

My mother had an aneurysm on May 11th. She's very lucky that somebody around her recognized the signs of an aneurysm and told her to go to the hospital. The aneurysm was so small that the doctors at UPMC Presbyterian couldn't coil it, so they had to do major brain surgery to clip it. Her speech is impaired due to a newly acquired stutter, but she is able to walk. She is the only one in our family that is known to have aneurysms. We are very happy, and lucky that she is still around.

My Mom died from a massive aneurysm three weeks ago, she was 78 but in great health. She complained of a headache and went to lay down and within 15 minutes she was in a coma and then died at the hospital the next day. This has been devastating for our family and we are still in shock, it is so sad to hear of other families suffering the same way we have. I want to learn more about this terrible killer and see what we can do to help other people not to have to go through this nightmare.

I was literally holding my head and wishing that the pain would go away. I thought I was just really, really tired, but I would PASS OUT in the bed and sleep for an hour to 2 hour intervals. Then, the next morning, I still had the bad migraine with nausea, and all of a sudden, my right side went numb and I collapsed. At first, doctors thought I was suffering from a stroke, then a complex migraine. But after the MRI, they saw it was a brain aneurysm.thought I was going to die when I collapsed

My friend's mom was having headache for 2 weeks. She didn't think of anything until she can't handle it. She went to the hospital and figured out it was brain aneurysm. I think they did some small surgery to her last week and she survived. However, the situation got worse and they had to do a second surgery. She just took a picture of herself smiling in bed yesterday before the surgery this morning. But nobody ever knew that it was her last smile. She passed away this morning....

She was operated on but died the next day, she was 85 which was a good age but almost a year on I can't deal with not having her around as I was so close to her, life is not the same now. Theres not a lot you can do stop this from happening as most aneurysms go undetected until its too late. My thoughts are with you as I'm going through the same thing as you, no matter how old your Mum is its so hard loosing someone you've had your whole life, take care Rod

Dr. Tom Yao was my doctor. He wanted to try going through my femoral artery first. He ended up using for stints to make a pipeline. It was one of the more complex surgeries he's done that way. I had one in 2001. It was forming around where my optic nerve crossed, the first hospital said it was too far in and too big, so they stabilized me and sent me to UCLA. I got lucky and the head of neurology was on call, and told my wife it didn't look good, I would either be blind, paralyzed, or a veritable, but I had a slim chance of a full recovery. And here I am. They gave her the choice of coiling or the more invasive clip, she made the right choice, the clip.

He prescribed Valium. Yupp valium. I told him about the sudden headaches that would leave he almost comatose. She was dead days later.

Lost my mom on March 2 of this year. She was 72. I had spent the whole day with her. She called me right before I went to bed. 20 minutes later, I was on my way to the E.R. She had suffered a ruptured aneurysm. One week and surgeries later, we were forced to let her go. She could out do must 40 year olds. Another doctor overheard my father say that my grandmother passed away from a hemorrhage of the brain at 53 in Japan. This was before I was born. That doctor told my father to have..

Never give up on what you feel in regards to your body, you know your body better than anyone. It took me 3 months going to doctor after doctor to finally get an MRI and MRA done to find out I had an aneurysm that needed surgical treatment. Finally 2 months after finding it I was a candidate for the Pipeline procedure and it saved my life. Odd thing is that mine was much larger as well when they got it there to repair it. I am so happy for you that you survived your surgery Lynn. God Bless You

My grandma had two brain aneurysms.. She had a stroke with it.. We wemt to the hospitals cuz she couldn't move her arm.. By the time we got to the hospital .. She couldnt set up at all or move her entire right side.. I looked at her and said grandma if we pray for u like we did mom.. An mom lived.. You will walk.. I prayed to Jesus Christ and after i prayed I looked down at my phone to call family and tell them wat was wrong .. I started to dial and looked up at my grandma.. I said GRANDMA ! YOUR SITTING UP !!!!!!! SHE SAID HEYYYY ! I AM !!!!! hahahaha I ran out to the hallway and yelled for the doctor he came running in.. And he saw her sitting up ! I said doctor how is this possible ?! He shook his head he said this makes no sense ! I started asking questions.. How is this possible if she has two aneyusms and a stroke?! He walked oit backwards as i followed him asking questions and he backed out the room and i said screw it !cuz he had no answers ! I turned to my grandma and i started jumping up and down! Cuz i new god did this ! .. You need to understand.. At the time I was teaching my mom to walk after her acoma.. She almost died her surgery caused acoma because the surgeon cut her bowl and poop ran into her blood shutting her body down.. They didnt think she would survive ! But i prayed and believed ! And she lived and now walks and is extremely happy and back to her nirmal self .. So when i saw my grandma paralyzed.. Knowing I had my mom at home paralyzed too.. I put all my faith in god ! Believe believe believe !! Jesus Christ heals with true belief.. God said he wont give u wat u cant handle ! Amen

I'm 37 years old I go to the Indiana Polyclinic for treatment I have had chronic migraines for 20 some years since I was 8 years old so think about that that's a long time I do have an aneurysm that's 2 to 3 cm I was told if it was to erupt it would put me in the hospital but I wouldn't die but I'm scared to death that it could erupt I've got severe different pain in the back of the base of the skull and I've got a severe migraine that has developed and I'm having a really really hard time moving to the left I don't think it's an emergency but from what I understand I think the aneurysm is by the left temple or something like that my mom could tell you cuz she goes with me and she can remember things better than I can but how would you know if your brain aneurysm was starting to burst how would you know that what would the pain be would it be like because I get really bad headaches with vomiting dizziness almost to the point I've been in and out of the hospital with them so how would I know the difference I have no pain tolerance so a little bit of pain can send me debilitated for several hours how would I know if it's an aneurysm erupting or if it's just my normal chronic migraine did I get every day of my life I get it more than most people get a migraine how would I know the difference because when I get a migraine I'm screaming at the world I'm vomiting I'm dizzy light sensitive sensitive to Smells how would I know the difference because when people are describing an aneurysm feeling like somebody shot them in the head or hit them over the head of the baseball bat when I get a really bad full blown out migraine that's what I feel like so I'm not sure if I would understand or even know the difference how would I know because right now I'm waiting for another treatment from the Indiana Polyclinic which I get botox injections I get occipital nerve blocks I get trigger point injections I also do the cranial sacral therapy and I haven't had that for about it'll be going on a month and I've noticed where the base of my left side of the skull is hurting really really bad and it's starting to cause a really bad migraine to the point it just feels a little different like if it was the way I slept then I can see it being a stiff neck working the muscle out doing my tens units I'm using my neck brace that has a nice pack in it and pumping it would help and take that away but it hasn't I've done ice massage I've done ice packs I've even done where you sit on a pool noodle and you put your feet up on a chair and you move your arms up and down almost like scissors and it's not helping so I'm not sure how would I know if this is the start of an aneurysm or if it's just one of my normal migraines that's the thing I want to know I'm more scared that I could have an aneurysm erupt and I would never know the darn difference I would never know because when I get a really really bad migraine like a Mack truck ran over me I vomit light sensitive noise bothers me smells bother me movement bothers me I get dizzy so I don't know if I would know the difference if somebody could explain that to me that would really help me out I want to ask my neurologist but every time I go in I'm nervous with the treatment they have to give me versed to calm me down because I tense up I tend to freak out over a needle I'm 37 and I'm the biggest baby like I'm very calm when they do the procedure but I tense up that sometimes they they feel they can't do the procedure if I'm tensing up that much because they're dealing with injections in the base of the skull and the base of the spine so they have to be super careful that I don't move I don't Flinch I don't shake so they have to relax me so I never get a chance to ask like what I know the difference and when I go to these appointments I don't think about asking because the one thing on my mind is getting pain relief and being able to function I work in healthcare as a receptionist and skilled nursing and some days it's like I don't want to get up and go sometimes I sit there and I think I've been dealing with these migraines everyday of my life since I was 8 years old I'm 37 years old now is this ever going to end am I ever going to get my life back I have no kids I'm single I live by myself and sometimes I can't function sometimes I go to work and I come home and I just don't want to be around nobody I don't want to be around light sound I just want to go to sleep and wake up in this never be an issue anymore and I don't see that happening I see this being something that I'm going to deal with the rest of my life and that's what the Indiana Polyclinic has told me I will always have a headache the rest of my life some days will be better than others and some days will be debilitating but treatment can help reduce that pain but how would I know if the headache with it being that bad is it my aneurysm or is it just a normal terrible terrible terrible no good migraine how would I know

Sometimes I get what feels like a severe muscle spasm in my head, usually at the temple or near the back or side of my head. It’s rare but when it happens I have to drop whatever I’m doing and just wait for the pain to go away. Not saying it’s a hemorrhage but just curious if anyone on here has any ideas of what could be going on. Normal or no? Just curious. Thanks

I am here because I'm terrified. I've been having moderate headaches every day for a month now along with extreme dizziness. I don't drink alcohol of any kind and don't do drugs either. My husband is out of state for several more months and we have a toddler. My dizziness is getting worse. It was only happening in the evening and now it's all day and night. I finally have an appointment with my dr in the early morning but I'm scared. I have neck pain now and when I move to fast I get tingling through my face. No ear pain, sinus pain or any other pain. I've been prone to migraines and have had them for 20 + years but I've never had dizziness and this constant headache is different from the normal migraine headaches I usually get. I hope my dr will not blow me off when I ask for a brain scan tomorrow.

I had a friend who was a Godly man, who received a brain aneurysm during sleep he was brain dead for 24 hours and he was just living off machines for the 24 hours, and then he finally passed and went back to his creator. This is one dangerous and out of watch disease to control and it's really hard to fix even if you survive most people aren't the same when they receive a brain aneurysm. So please watch out for these symptoms in this video because it only takes one massive headache to tell you it's time to act.
