Twenty years ago I read Descartes's Error. It was an eye-opener. I still think it was the most relevant book Antonio Damasio wrote. Nowadays it is all about getting an audience. Anything goes, truisms and even lies. Me comes to mind.

Hey this was really good! But - someone should slap the two 'unconscious' people sitting in the front row who persist in carrying on a whispered conversation while the rest of us struggle to follow an engaging colloquy between of two very intelligent men.

Ow god: exactly! How my palms are aching to slap these two babbles right into the center of the hub of awareness... so relieved that some else feels the same about this mountainish inhumanity.

Problems in the Upper Left Quadrant are deeply associated with problems in the Lower Left Quadrant, both Interior realm, … see Integral Theory and AQUAL of Ken Wilber to understand the coneections between the systems.

Great perspective of professionals in the field. However, there appears to be a great sense of disconnect between the perception and understanding of Antonio Damasio and Dan Siegel's brain when compared to the young individuals taking their own life. How is this high level of thought and knowledge conveyed to a young person in terms that it can be understood and applied?

There is another conversation between briljant minds available on the internet, which is one about the relation between adverse childhood experiences, childhood trauma, and the vagus nerve. This is a conversation, facilitated bij SAND, between dr. Steven Porges and dr. Gabor Maté. Beautifull. I'll include a link. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/asiZpsRkyb_KZ4k.html

Strange interview. You bring a genius and ask him questions outside his expertise!. Damasio's work enables far original answers to the questions being asked, but Damasio him self clueless.

can you imagine talking about high schoolers killing themselves without investigating the class dynamics of their choices and the world in which they are thrown into? absurd, to interpolate that with some "omg they're not connected" fabulism? the specificity and generality of damasio's approach is completely lost in this framework. he reenforces sociality but the interviewer only sees the world through the isolated individual.
